The rays of the morning sun brought Drake out of his slumber. As
consciousness returned he became aware of his surrounding. He was in a
bed chamber that at first seemed unfamiliar but as sleep rapidly lost
its hold, his memory came flooding back. He turned to his right and
there laid the bare backside of a woman with long blonde hair. He
realized almost instantly where he was. This was Zoe's apartment, he
concluded.
Seating up, Drake's gaze studied the woman he shared a bed with. She was
soundly asleep. For a moment he spent some time watching her upper body
move as she breathed in and out. The small table to his left held two
empty wine bottles that were reminiscent of a pleasant night from
yesterday. He had spent most of yesterday exploring much of the colony
together with Zoe. When their day had come to an end, she had invited
him to her place. Neither of them had been willing to stop exploring.
Rather than exploring geographical structures, they had shifted to
exploring each other's body for the duration of the night.
Drake stood up wrapping his naked form in a blanket and headed for the
slightly open door in the room leading to the balcony where a radiant
sun was rising from the horizon. It was a beautiful and peaceful sight
to behold, and for a moment he simply stood still taking it all in. He
was only a few meters away from something's Point...he forgot what the
name was. He could see its gorgeous mountain ridges in the horizon.
"Come back to bed," Zoe called from inside the room.
Drake turned around smiling as he walked back to her. "I'm afraid I
can't. There's a bunch of errands I need to run today, including finding
a permanent residence."
"You could always stay here," Zoe replied with a playful grin on her
face. Her blue eyes dazzled in the sunlight giving him pause for the
briefest of moments.
"I don't imagine your boss will be too happy with that," Drake replied
as one of his hands traced one of hers before they locked fingers.
"Yeah you are quite right," Zoe replied with a laugh. "He might just
fire me if he finds out."
"Well I won't tell if you don't," Drake replied with a playful grin
before moving in close to give Zoe a kiss.
"Hmm..." Zoe replied after the kiss. "If you keep teasing me like that I
may not let you go."
Drake laughed. "You mean like this?" He kissed Zoe's forehead, her
cheek, and her neck before pressing his lips against hers.
"Okay, its official you are not going anywhere." Zoe replied back as she
wrapped both her arms around Drake pulling him on top of her. "I did
warn you."
Drake grinned. "I guess another thirty minutes won't hurt," he replied.
"Make that an hour, and you have a deal."
"You drive a hard bargain," Drake answered stealing another kiss.
"Well it is what I get paid to do," Zoe replied smiling.
"An hour it is then ma'am."
