Justin knocked on the Admiral's door. He had changed his uniform before
coming to work on the work order for the Admiral.

"Come in," the Admiral really wished her door chime was working, the
incessant knocking was starting to grate her nerves.

Justin entered. "Cap.. Admiral. I came to do some maintenance." He
offered her the PADD to show her the work orders she submitted.

She reached for the PADD and read it over quickly, "Whatever you need to
do Lox you've got my permission." K`y handed it back, "How's things going
for you?"

"Been rather Busy." He took the PADD and put it in the case he had on his
belt. "It is non-stop. I haven't even had time to look over the
runabouts procured for AFS-T4 to see what needs updated. I have 9
different constructions projects going on right now, plus general
maintenance." Justin looked at K'y and grinned "I love it."

K`y shook her head, "If there's one thing I know about you it's the more
you have to play with and fantasize about how you can make it , bigger,
better, faster, whatnot, then you are a happy kid in a candy store." She
shuffled through some PADDs, "Did you need me to leave the office to get
the work done or can I continue as I am?"

"You are welcome to stay. I'd actually prefer it. Less chance of any
potential accusation of spying or information leakage." Justin said as he
pulled the panel off the door controls to fix the chime. "Interesting,
someone cut your chime links." He dug into his duffel of took and parts
and pulled out a short ODN cable and a splicer.

Her interest piqued, "Do you have records who last accessed the panel?"

"I do, but they are from before our arrival and I suspect inaccurate." He
pulled out his PADD and brought up the record. "The person in question is
not on paradise IV any longer. As a matter of fact, according to
Starfleet records my our own medical team from the Vimyridge, they are one
of the civilian casualties from the quake. However, their personal file
show them as being a technologically challenged. Based on this, they
would have done a lot more damage then just cut the ODN cable." Justin
offered K'y the PADD.

"It's all right, if you are convinced this is not something done recently
then I am fine. Please continue to do as you require," then the lights
went out after a series of popping sounds echoed, "I said fix... not break
Justin." Her face was lit by the glow of her PADD as she looked to his
direction with a deadpan expression.

Justin looked up taking out a flashlight "That wasn't me. I just replaced a
single cable." He moved over to the main console and yanked it open,
revealing sparks, and a small fire. "Ahhhh." He quickly put it out.

The Admiral furrowed her brow but remained silent as she heard him speak
again.

"Looks like someone set a booby-trap. They cross-linked the power grid to
go when the announcer was activated." With a sigh Justin pulled the guts
of the power control grid out of the wall and started checking it. "If
this was on a starship, this could have killed us."

"Well it's not a damned starship but I don't trust that what occurred
wasn't on purpose and I can't help but suspect some of it was recent....
that panel very well could have been tampered with recently." She
grumbled, "The irony in this colony's name is sour with discontent."

"So I've noticed." Justin said. "There, fixed. Before I put it back
online, I'm going to check the other junctions in here." He made his way
around the office to check each and every junction.

"So," she asked just filling dead airspace as he worked, "Do you ever wish
you were back on a vessel?"

"Yes and no." Justin answered as he worked "I like the freedom a ship
gives, but the work here is more fulfilling. Helping the civilians get
back on their feet feels good. The workload... will probably end up
leading me to an early grave from the stress." He grinned as he closed up
the last panel and faced the Admiral. "Ready to try again."

"No time like the present to check it out. Have at it Justin." Vilqa could
technically work in the dark if need be, the PADDs at least were backlit.

Justin restored power, and waited to see what would go 'fizzle' next.
When nothing did he smiled. "Everything here is now ship-shape Admiral.
Too much to do, so I will take my leave, sir." With that, he quickly left
Admiral Vilqa to her work. He understood she had a lot of work to do, and
like himself, very little time to deal with it.
