"According to my knowledge, this planet was part of their original claim.
Forgive my ignorance, but can you backbrief me on the situation with
these... people?" There was concern etched in his voice but also a
croakiness that was developing. It was apparent that Vin was not at his
healthiest but try and tell him to stop... even if you were once intimately
involved with him as K'y may or may not have been according to the
rumours... you wouldn't get far.
The part Klingon ran her tongue along the front of her top teeth in a single
swipe as she took in a slow laboured breath of the controlled air. "The
Xeleucians, they nearly destroyed our fleet. If I may be so blunt we were on
the brink of being completely dismantled. I spent years on the hunt and that
is why I am losing my vessel, if at least temporarily." Her neck as she
tilted her head to the left then right, "We have yet to completely
understand their language, their goal is complete annihilation of the
Federation and their hold in this and the outlying sectors." She started to
give a brief synopsis, "The initial attacks on Ohmacht and the assault on
Parlaxis brought on the heaviest toll that the Fleet has ever endured. We
found temporary safe haven in the Ayk system but that was short lived; it
was from there we pursued Katan'ka in hopes we would be able to divert an
alliance between the Xeleucians and Alit'ras. We fortified Katan'ka which
was pivotal."
Vilqa finally looked Vin squarely in the eyes, "If the alliance between the
races had succeeded neither of us would be standing here now. I guarantee
it." Regret then filled her sapphire blue eyes, "We wanted to take back 517,
Brigadier Luta told me personally and I believe a task force is getting
arranged but I am not personally privy to current details." She went on
offering what details she could having more information than she could
readily piece together without a proper timeline, "Ironically," she added
and she wasn't certain why at this point, "Do you know the Xeleucians have
no transporter technology on their vessels. at least none that we have
encountered."
He took note of everything that he could. The race was a threat; they had
come to the present from the past. 'Could history bite us in the ass again?'
was his thought. And then almost immediately he spoke his response to his
own question "Why yes it can. History has proved to come back again and
again and again." The statement was muttered in a barely legible tone as he
tried to burrow himself into some more of the plans and preparations on his
massive personnel desk.
Noting that K'y queried his verbal mutterings with one of her classical
looks, he palmed off the question waving it away before continuing more
directly to Captain Vilqa. "That is one benefit to us." nerves made him
start to pace slightly. This was definitely not the news he expected to
hear. Vin was well aware that Sol and other Federation systems were getting
kept in the dark to the extent of what was occurring out here on the brink,
but with a lack of knowledge somehow the Captain had eventually come to the
conclusion that the matter had been dealt with.
"This is a definite problem" he finally stated, rounding out his thoughts.
His solution bending mind starting to work overtime came out with a number
of scenarios and all of them not brilliant. Instead he stole himself for
the moment to ask a favour of K`y later. Other things needed to be
discussed in the immediate term that took priority at this point in time.
To be continued.
