[Holding Facility, Security Offices, Starfleet Compound]
Yim'Bar faced the large 'Bear of a Man'. The last time these two had met it was in the street in front of the hospital. This beast had struck Yim'Bar to within a centimeter of his life with a pole. Yim'Bar was shocked he was about to have this conversation. Twenty minutes earlier, Yim'Bar had instructed Sing to place a tracking device well hidden in the coat of the huge man. Sometimes you had to let the little guy get away to catch the big ones. "They say your name is Ben Ghrimm, is that correct?"
The man did not answer. There was no reason to, he wasn't afraid of these 'Fleeters' as he was with the others. Yeah, they would obviously have known he was caught by now. He did get paid handsomely for creating a bit of a ruckus but it wasn't enough to pay for his funeral should he talk. So Ben just looked up at the blue skinned man with his obviously addled eyes. After all, before this all started he had quite a big hit, and this wasn't the coming down he really wanted.
"Relax my friend, It is not my intention to bring you harm or delay you. It is my hope to have you out of here sooner rather than later. I am willing to say your actvities within the riot were just spur of the moment crowd reflex. But I need to ascertain a few things. Would you be willing to answer a few questions in exchange for your release?"
Still no response. It wasn't to antagonise the Chief of Security, he knew that if he did even mention his own name they said that they would cut his tongue out. He didn't like that idea, already a lot of people thought him stupid, they would have a field day if he couldn't speak in anything but mumbles, and he wouldn't even be able to defend himself with his usual witty retort of 'get stuffed.' But he was at least liking this man, after all ... he was trying to be friendly.
"I am the commander of this facility, I am responsible for holding or releasing you at this point. I Want to give you a chance to go free. You see I might have gone too far in my actions and simply want all of this to go away," Yim'Bar lied. "If I release you then maybe I can put this behind me and go on about my very illustrious career. So will you answer a couple questions?"
"Whattyah think you are better than ME?" immediately he realised that he broke his silence. But the talk of illustrious career, he couldn't help it. So he once again retreated into his silence and tried to make the fact that he did talk go away by looking away from the Chief of Security.
"Are you part of an organized effort to undermine the Federation's effort on Paradise-IV or were you merely someon who got caught in the heat of the moment?" Yim'Bar asked.
That he would not answer. He wasn't part of any organised effort... or was he. He wasn't smart enough to realise if he was. All he knew is that he got paid, and that since he spoke now, he might even get his tongue cut out. He was now shifting uncomfortably, he wanted leave, get away from this questioning. It wasn't fair.
This was going nowhere. Yim'Bar decided what had to be done had to be done. "Your toxicology report shows that you have a higher than normal amount of Meteor Mash in your system. That is a pretty serious stimulant. I am inclined to believe that due to your apparent addiction you acted out of an uncontrollable chemical reaction. If that is the case I obviously am going to have to let you go. I could not detain a man who was not in full control of his faculties, it just wouldn't be right. So Mr. Ghrimm, you are free to go about your business. I will say this, if you feel the need or get the desire to free yourself from your addiction, the free clinics which are offered by the Federation throughout the colony will
willingly assist you. You have value and can make a difference in your own life, if you want too.
The man looked at Yim'Bar said nothing and looked down at the gate seperating him from his freedom.
"You are released." Yim'Bar said and opened the gate allowing the giant out of the facility, "Your things are over on that bench. The exit is right there."
Yim'Bar shook his head as the man exited a free man.
