NowI wanted to reinstall a new problem but I can't do it anymore.. Your latest version of viber is 2.2.. It says it is not compatible with my OS which is 4.2.1... What shall I do to install the older version or the fixed version of viber? please help... Thanks

You can also backup this app. Go to apps in iTunes (left pane under your music library). Find Viber. Right click on it and select open in finder/explorer. Copy the app file somewhere else in your computer.

hey there. i got the iOs 4.2.1 at my phone and i had viber and it was working perfectly. 3 days ago I had to restore my iphone and when i tried to put back viber it just wouldn't be installed cause it says that it's not compatible anymore. will I ever be able to use the application again at my iOs 4.2.1 iphone or not?

Please note that Viber does not officially support iPhone 3 and below nor iOS4.2 and below at this stage, and this is probably the reason for the problems you're experiencing. We are planning to roll back Viber in AppStore only for iPhone3 and iOS4.2 users, so that they can use an older version of Viber, that's compatible with their phone, and we hope to complete this step as soon as possible.

If you use an old iPhone, chances are you've run into the problem of not being able to download new apps. Luckily, you can download older versions of apps in a few ways. So, read on to explore your options.

This is the easiest way to download an older version of an app, but you may not have heard of it because Apple's App Store doesn't clarify whether an older version exists. For example, it's common to come across a message on an app's page telling you that it Requires [iOS version] or later, leading you to believe that your phone is incompatible. But this isn't always true.

You can ignore that message and proceed to hit the download button anyway. When you do, the App Store will display a message asking if you want to download an older version of the app. Follow these exact steps to get this pop-up:

Another way to download older versions of apps is to find them in your Purchased or Apps (on newer iPhones) history. This works well if you've recently reset your iPhone to factory settings, only to find out that some of the previously installed apps now require a later version of iOS to work.

Additionally, some people find that the App Store won't automatically give them an option to download a previous compatible version. This is despite having just had a working version installed on their phone. If you're one of those people, try downloading an app from your Purchased app list instead.

I've tried re-downloading apps from my Purchased (or Apps) list and found that it worked with no issues. But what do you do if you haven't purchased or downloaded an app in the past? One workaround is to use a newer iPhone running on a more recent iOS version to download the app you want.

The key is to log into your iCloud account on the newer device to ensure the app is saved to your history of app purchases. Once you download the app, head back to your old iPhone and try downloading it from your Purchased (or Apps) list or by searching for it.

To test this method, I used an iPhone 15 Pro to log into my iCloud account and downloaded an app that wasn't compatible with my iPhone X. Once I got the app, I went back to my older iPhone and downloaded the same app by searching for it, and it worked!

Alternatively, you can tap the profile icon in the App Store, select Purchased (or Apps on newer iPhones), and scroll through the list to find the app you just installed on your newer iPhone. Then, hit the cloud icon with the downward arrow beside the app to begin downloading it.

As you can see in the screenshots above, the App Store didn't give me an option to download an older version. However, once I downloaded it on my iPhone running iOS 17.4, I was able to install the older version on my iPhone X.

The older your iPhone is, the less likely you are to find a compatible version of the app you're after. But with how easy it is to see if an older app version is available, it's well worth giving these methods a go. If you suspect another issue stopping you from getting an app, don't worry, as there are several other fixes for apps not downloading on your iPhone.

With how Apple has designed the App Store, you can easily think that your favorite app is no longer compatible with your iPhone. But don't be fooled! Several apps offer older versions that will work on your old iPhone, and they're incredibly easy to get.

This post is going to focus on how to install old version of app for iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. If you have the problem with downloading old version of app back, please read this post and see if it could solve your problem.

For those users whose iDevices still stay in older iOS versions, one possible problem is that an updated app requires iOS 12 or later, but their devices are still stuck on iOS 11/10/9. The updated app will not compatible with their devices. In this case, users need to download the previous version of the app.

There is no doubt that if you want to install an old version of the app, you are required to get back the old version of the app first. Since App Store merely offers you the newest version of the app, you may find it not easy to grab the older version of the app from the official website.

Normally we recommend you directly download the old version of the APK file from the websites above, which is more convenient for you to find the file on your computer. Also, you could download the file to your computer. However, you may take further steps to transfer the app to your iPhone.

Step 4. Click App Library, where you can see all the apps you have downloaded. If you want to install an old version of the app after updating. Choose the one in App Library and click the Install button. The old version of the app will start to download to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Here, we recommend a special Apps backup software for you called AppTrans that helps you back up apps or app data on iOS devices with just a few clicks, and then you can install the old version apps on your iPhone easily after you update the system.

The app update is unavoidable, but with the help of AnyTrans and the apps manager AppTrans, you could now backup your favorite apps the same as backup your data. If you have any other great ideas about installing an old version of the app, please share them with us in the comment column.

Apps change, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. Maybe the update is ugly, it crashes when you open it, or you don't like the new privacy terms. Whatever the reason, reverting an app to an older version on your phone or shiny new Chromebook is easy, and we're here to help you do it. When reverting to an older build to fix an issue, the first step is to report the problem to the developer. That way, the issue can be addressed in a future update. The most essential apps often have more access to your personal data, so using an outdated version can be a security concern.

You can't sideload Android apps if you enrolled in Google's Advanced Protection Program. You can uninstall the current version of an app, but you can't manually reinstall an older version, which is the second step in the rollback process for many apps. If you rely on Google's security protocol, there isn't a simple workaround to revert to an app.

This guide has been checked and updated for Android 14. The steps outlined below work the same for Android 10 through Android 14, minus a few visual differences and minor variations in wording between each version.

You must uninstall an app before rolling back to an earlier version, but that isn't always possible. Most third-party apps can be easily removed, and system apps might not have that option. In those cases, uninstall the updates to the original app.

System or otherwise, the easiest and most universal way to uninstall an app is via the Settings app. You can uninstall third-party apps or updates via other avenues, like long pressing app icons in some launchers or through the Play Store. This method works on most Android devices. Skip this part if you prefer a different method.

You may also need to activate an option to show system apps if the application you want to roll back was shipped with your phone. In that case, you can display those apps via the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the complete app list page (though they may also be in a separate tab).

Select Force Stop to ensure the app isn't running while you're messing with it. (This isn't always required, but it's better to be safe than sorry.) When troubleshooting, scroll to the bottom of the App info pane (after tapping Advanced in some Android versions) and take a screenshot or write down the current version number.

After stopping the app, you'll determine how to uninstall the current version. For third-party apps, select Uninstall next to the Force Stop button. Follow the prompts from there, and the app will be gone.

For pre-installed system apps, select the Uninstall updates option in the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner. A similar prompt lets you know the factory version will replace the currently installed update, removing all data.

There are security concerns when you install an app outside the Google Play Store or the official app store of your Android phone. Make sure you trust the source. Hackers can insert malicious code into an otherwise legitimate app, so there is a chance an app you download from a third-party source could access your personal and financial data.
