Team: 15 years ago this week — after five long months of relearning how to walk and talk — I was released from TIRR Memorial Hermann.
I’ll always remember how it felt reaching this milestone. Like so many victims of gun violence, my recovery is a lifelong journey.
After being shot in the head, I was left partially paralyzed and with a condition called aphasia. Words used to come so easily to me, and now I struggle to speak. But like everything else in my life, I refused to give up.
As I celebrate this milestone — and as GIFFORDS PAC prepares for the upcoming end-of-quarter fundraising deadline — I am humbly asking you to make a donation of $15 to help advance our work to end the gun violence crisis in America.

Poll after poll shows that an overwhelming majority of voters support commonsense gun safety legislation.
Our politicians must find the courage to act and protect our communities. If they fail to do so, then we must vote them out and elect leaders who will.
That’s why I am asking:
$15 to help mobilize and reach persuadable voters — online and at their doorstep.
$15 to fight back against any overreach from the Trump administration and Republicans.
$15 to help us elect a gun safety majority.
