Senator Susan Collins helped put Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court — and now she wants the public to forget what happened next.
Collins recently tried to defend her vote by falsely suggesting on Fox News that Roe v. Wade would have been overturned even without Kavanaugh. But that's just not true: Roe fell in a 5-4 decision with Kavanaugh's support shortly after Collins voted to confirm him.
Thanks to Sen. Collins, millions of people have lost access to abortion care. Countless patients have been forced to travel across state lines, delay urgent medical treatment, or carry pregnancies against their will.

This is about accountability. Collins cannot claim to support reproductive freedom while refusing to take responsibility for helping confirm the justice who helped destroy it.
The harm is still unfolding. Since Roe was overturned, anti-abortion extremists have pushed bans, clinic closures, attacks on medication abortion, and threats to doctors and patients across the country. Every person denied care is living with the consequences of decisions made by politicians like Collins.
Sen. Collins cannot claim she was not warned. It was clear at the time that Kavanaugh posed a direct threat to Roe. Activists disrupted his confirmation hearing, pleaded with senators to shut it down, and warned that confirming him would be an attack on women’s rights and democracy itself.
I was one of those activists – and I was arrested for disrupting the hearing. But Collins ignored our warnings and voted to confirm Kavanaugh anyway.
