Mona,
Last week, we delivered nearly 200,000 signatures (including yours!) to the office of California Attorney General Rob Bonta in opposition to the corrupt Paramount Skydance / Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) merger.
This groundswell makes it clear that the American people oppose Trump-friendly billionaires buying up and twisting our media system. We couldn’t have done this without the support of our partners like Inequality Media, Inequality Media Civic Action, Eko, the Future Film Coalition, the Committee for the First Amendment and the International Documentary Association — and you.
Thank you.
We also shared testimonials about the harms of consolidating media into the hands of one wealthy MAGA-aligned family. More than 4,000 industry professionals — including A-listers like Jane Fonda, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Pedro Pascal, Glenn Close, Ben Stiller and Lin-Manuel Miranda — have signed an open letter opposing this merger.
Even though WBD shareholders voted to approve the merger, AG Bonta made it clear: “this is not a done deal” and there are many “red flags.”
If you’d like to do more, we’re still encouraging everyone to call their state attorney general and ask them to conduct an honest antitrust review: Please call 202-851-8011 right away.
Here’s a script to get you started:
Hello! My name is [First Name]. I’m a constituent and I’m calling to ask Attorney General [Name] to protect consumers and workers by blocking the Paramount / Warner Bros. merger. This merger is dangerous for our democracy and threatens the future of free speech and freedom of the press.

P.S. You’ve already done so much. Can we ask you for one more thing? A $10 donation (or whatever you can give) today will go a long way toward fighting media consolidation.
