Friend, I am all too familiar with the unending pain of having a child taken from you by gun violence.
Over 13 years ago, my sweet little Daniel was murdered in his first-grade classroom at Sandy Hook Elementary. Ever since, I’ve dedicated my life to sparing other parents from the agony of sending their child to school only to get the news that they’re never coming home. That’s why I’m reaching out today.
Right now, the House of Representatives is working on a bill that would allow people to carry firearms without a permit and regardless of state law. It includes a provision that would allow them to do so in school zones.
During a time when firearms are the leading cause of death for children and teens in our country, Congress should be taking action to keep children safe and prevent gun violence – not creating ways for guns to be carried in school zones.
That’s why we’re working to collect 100,000 petition signatures demanding Congress protect school zones. As written, this bill could allow more guns around schools, potentially putting children’s lives at risk. So please, can we count on you to add your name right away?
Please, will you sign the petition now to tell Congress to protect school zones?
While I can’t ever bring my kindhearted boy back, it’s not too late to save another parent’s child – to save your child or your loved one. Thank you for taking action today to protect more children from gun violence.
