Friend, over the last few months, I've had some time to think.

And the more I thought, the more I kept coming back to something my father used to say at the dinner table when I was growing up in Peoria.

He'd look at us and say: "Think of the greatness of this country. Whatever you do, make sure this country is there for the next families who need it."

He said that as an immigrant who came here with nothing. He said it after our family had struggled, having lived in public housing and on food stamps. He said it because he believed — with everything he had — that this country could still be a place where hard work leads somewhere. Where a kid with a hard-to-pronounce last name still gets a real shot.

I built my entire life around that belief.

And right now, that belief is under direct attack.

Donald Trump and his MAGA allies are gutting the safety net that kept my family afloat.

They're rigging the economy for billionaires while working and middle-class families fall further behind.

They're weaponizing the government against immigrants, against workers, against anyone who dares to believe the American Dream should be available to everyone — not just the powerful and well-connected.

My father's America is being dismantled piece by piece. And I refuse to sit back and watch it happen.

That's why today, I'm launching Equal Opportunity Now  — a group dedicated to supporting causes and leaders who will fight like hell to expand opportunity, take on Trump's MAGA agenda, and make sure this country is still there for the next families that need it.

Equal Opportunity Now will support the fights that matter most to working families: making sure every child has food on the table and access to a quality education, lowering prescription drug costs and grocery prices, strengthening good-paying jobs and workers' rights, holding corporate bad actors and corrupt politicians accountable, and fighting bigotry and prejudice in all its forms.

These problems require ambitious, bold solutions, championed by leaders who know that our time is running out.

That's why I need you to become a founding donor of Equal Opportunity Now today.

The leaders and groups who are willing to fight back against Trump's MAGA agenda and deliver real change are out there. But they need funding, infrastructure, and people ready to invest in them early. Founding donors who step up now make it possible. They make it real.

Will you split a contribution of $10, $25, or $50 between Equal Opportunity Now and Democracy Defense Action to start this organization off on the right foot? Your grassroots contribution in this early stage will be CRUCIAL to helping us win.

My father was right about this country. It's worth fighting for.

Thanks for joining me in the next chapter of my journey, it means the world to me.
