Mona, today marks four years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
For nearly 50 years, Roe represented a fundamental constitutional right: the freedom for women to make personal health care decisions without politicians standing in the way.
Then the Supreme Court took that right away.
The consequences have been devastating for millions of women across the country. And anti-choice extremists have made it clear that they will not stop until abortion is banned nationwide.
That’s why I’ve fought to restore Roe v. Wade’s protections in federal law through the Women’s Health Protection Act. I’ve worked to protect women’s right to travel across state lines for the care they need, defend the privacy of women seeking care and expand access to affordable birth control.
But there is so much more work to do.
I refuse to accept a future where women have fewer rights than their mothers and grandmothers did. I will not stop until every woman in our country can make her own health care decisions.
This anniversary is a reminder of what we lost. But it can also be a call to keep going. Will you stand with me and chip in $50 right now to help us reach our $40,000 goal by midnight tonight?
