Friend,
Donald Trump just nominated his own personal defense attorney, Todd Blanche, to be Attorney General of the United States.
Think about that. The lawyer who defended Trump in four criminal cases would now run the very department that prosecutes crime. Blanche has one client, and it isn't the American people.
If you agree the Senate needs to reject Todd Blanche’s nomination to lead the Department of Justice, sign our petition today →
As Deputy Attorney General, Blanche buried the Epstein files, withholding three million pages of documents while exposing victims' private information. He even lied to Congress under oath when he claimed he had met with the Epstein survivors, something they say never happened.
Blanche orchestrated Trump’s proposed $1.8 billion slush fund and a signed waiver shielding Trump, his family, and his businesses from the IRS scrutiny. Even Senate Republicans revolted.
And Blanche has gone after Trump's political enemies, indicting a former FBI director over a social media post.
This is what a personal lawyer with a federal badge looks like. An Attorney General is supposed to answer to the law. Blanche answers to Trump.
The Senate can stop this. Add your name today to call on Senate Republicans to reject Todd Blanche’s nomination.
Sincerely,
Team Schumer
