Mona,
The Supreme Court has once again thrown redistricting into chaos—opening the door for politicians to manipulate maps and pick their voters instead of the other way around.
In the wake of the Court’s latest decision on Louisiana’s congressional map, states across the South are already scrambling to redraw districts. And the pattern is familiar: maps that dilute the voting power of Black communities while handing seats to Republicans.
Lawmakers in states like Alabama, Tennessee, and Louisiana are moving quickly. Without federal action, partisan gerrymandering will continue to spread—locking in Republican power and undermining democracy for the next decade.
Thankfully, Democratic lawmakers including Rep. Zoe Lofgren, Sen. Alex Padilla, and Sen. Raphael Warnock have introduced legislation to ban partisan gerrymandering nationwide and establish clear, enforceable standards for fair maps.
Tell Congress: Pass legislation to ban partisan gerrymandering nationwide and protect fair representation. Sign the petition and we'll deliver your signature to key members of the House and Senate Judiciary commtitees.

The reforms Democrats are proposing would require transparency, fairness, and accountability in redistricting—ensuring that communities, not politicians, decide elections. But those bills will not move unless there is strong public pressure.
If Congress fails to act now, more states will follow this path. More maps will be drawn to entrench power. And more voters—especially voters of color—will see their voices diluted for years to come.
Add your name now and demand Congress pass federal protections to ban partisan gerrymandering and defend the right to fair representation.
Thanks for everything you do.
