Dear USO Supporter,

June 27 is National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Day. It's a time to continue expanding awareness of how this deeply impacts the brave men and women who have served our country.

Through military supporters like you, the USO works to be part of the solution, ensuring our service members have programs and support available to them during active duty, in the hope of strengthening their resilience and overall well-being while experiencing high-stress situations that often come with military service.

STAND WITH OUR HEROES

One way to provide help when it's needed most is through the USO Canine Program, where our canine volunteers and their handlers provide emotional and mental health support and visit injured or sick service members at Warrior and Family Centers. Their visits alone are associated with lowering cases of PTSD, decreasing anxiety and helping with depression.

"Going through training can be extremely grueling, and I have little to no time to relax. When I came to [the USO] today, it was such a nice surprise to see a dog. It absolutely made my day and weekend," said one service member.
