Here's a perfect picture of Donald Trump's presidency, friend.
Families are drowning in bills. Trump is drowning the Reflecting Pool in algae.
I wish I was kidding.
People are losing their homes, cutting back at the grocery store, skipping the gas station — and Trump's top priority is the Reflecting Pool. He picked the paint color himself. It turned fluorescent green in days. Then he blamed "vandals" and had a cyclist arrested.
Give us a break.
And there's a grift underneath it, like always. A $1.7 million no-bid contract to a Trump donor. Another $14.7 million to a firm that worked on pools at Trump's own golf club. Some of it is paid for with the fees families hand over to visit their own national parks.
When you have such unqualified people, America always pays the price.
Trump hasn't drained the swamp. He's made it filthier than ever and invited his cronies to take a swim.
And Senate Republicans are right there with him every step of the way, covering for the corruption, refusing to lift a finger to lower your costs.
We can put an end to this chaos in November. But only if we fight now.
Our end-of-quarter deadline is at midnight on June 30. Chip in today to help us stand up to the chaos and corruption and take back the Senate →
America needs a president right now, not a pool boy.
Sincerely,
Chuck Schumer
