Hello,

After more than 1 year of work, I'm finally able to make the very first
release Libinsane: 0.9.

Libinsane is *the* library to access scanners on both Linux and Windows.
It's cross-platform, cross-programming languages, cross-scanners :-). It
takes care of all the quirks of all the platforms and scanners (with
some limitations unfortunately).
It is the successor of Pyinsane2 but shares no code with it. The license
is also different: LGPL v3+ instead of GPL v3+.

0.9 is a preview version. There is still a missing piece in TWAIN
support (Windows only) and I still have to update the documentation.

IronScanner has been modified to use Libinsane:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/OpenPaperwork/ironscanner#readme

Please give it a try and submit scan test reports. I'm really interested
in any constructive feedback, positive or negative.

Thanks in advance,

Best regards,

John Cooper

Hi Jerome,

That's great news. I'm really loving paperwork it's making my life a load more organised.

I've just sent in my report for my snapscan it looks like it worked well. It was also really quick to do.

Thanks

john
