A scanning of the listed commands for a means of obtaining user input
left me wondering.
Are there commands, functions, or procedures not listed which can be
used for such?

Thanks in advance,
Gene

What might you consider help?

Is the source code accessible?
Can existing sources be (re)used?
For instance, can any of the javaScript code from TryScheme
?
