clipMask and printing

I have a problem exporting any content that contains a clipMask to an SVG.  The object that is masked export but ay other un-masked objects are ignored. i.e. it seems that the masking is applied to all objects in that layer, not just the ones that have clipMask set.

Since printing is done via an SVG, it means only the masked object can be printed.

If the clip mask is removed then all the object in the layer are printed as expected.

Any suggestions

Make two layers then and put the objects that aren't printing in the second one?
