Welcome to the list Charlie. Yeah, mixing in a bucket is hard work.
Check out Curtis's
idea for a mixer
made from a pressure washer and a custom built header.
We're always happy to hear from someone who's out there doing it, and
passing along their experiences. I recommend reading the archives,
there is a lot of good information there among the good times and
occasional rant.

Hello all just joined this group because I have started making papercrete. My first project is going to be a 12'x12' storage building in my backyard. So far I have made 80 - 8x8x12 blocks I'm mixing in a 5 gallon bucket with a mortar mixing bit in my drill. Lots of work doing it this way so I am getting a 55 gallon barrel an building a larger mixer using a 1hp A/C electric motor. I just want to make 30 - 35 gallon batches so no need to build a tow mixer just yet. Charlie
I'm planning on building a 12'x12' wooden sub floor. Also decided on a
built in solar oven. For cooking and heating in the winter. I have a
design in my head just need to draw it up. Not that I will be living
in it but sure would be nice to have a heated shed to work in the
winter. I also plan on solar panels for electric.

Sounds very cool.... What type of roof are you going to have andhow are you going to attach the papercrete blocks to the sub floor? The built in solar oven would be very handy to have especially in the winter... I know nothing about the solar aspects of anything... So any info you are willingto share on that would be interesting to hear about. How much room will thesolar oven take up?I live in a small town that has ordinances about the sizes of sheds you can have without having to get permits.... I believe it's 10' x 16' and it has to be movable...That is the reason for all my questions... :o) My kids might try to lock me up if
