How to use updated_at

foo.bar_updated_at returns a DateTime as expected, however, foo.bar.updated_at returns just a portion of the time, which is fine (although a bit odd), but should it be returning an integer though? Looking at the attachment.rb@257, I can see why. So is this must be by design or is it a bug?
