And opening weekend is in the books!

It's been so lovely having big houses these last two nights, full of friends and warm reactions! This production process has been a beast internally, but it is really coming together and the audiences are responding to all the different layers. (& Pliny promises to never flip switches during the show again.)

Marketing notes - Liz & Alexis will be on Arts Eclectic on Tuesday; Liz & other cast members (TBA?) will be on COOP radio on Wednesday. Hopefully the Statesman, BBW, CTXLT, and Chronicle reviews come out early this week and are helpful and we will post or bury them accordingly.

Next week reminders - the Creative Fund folks is coming on Thursday as a Creative Experience with their group - they have requested an informal talk back or tour of the space after the show. (Liz & Lisa, can you be available to chat with them? Do we want to ask the cast to stick around?)

Lisa, your friend group is coming on Friday, correct? (Please send me your list as you know more)

Liz, what night is your mom's group? (They are buying their tickets online, yes? But arriving early?)

what an auspicious start to the third weekend!

84 folks in the house last night who were a great crowd - audible laughs and gasps and a standing ovation! See below for the summary and attached for the full report.

We have another 71 tix pre-reserved for tonight as well!

Thanks to Friday and tonight's ridiculously full houses, we are on track financially - But keep pushing SUNDAY, we know it won't be as packed but we still want it to feel warm and friendly for our artists' experience as well as the audience's.

notes:

if we are to continue producing large events at CMPBS, we need to find ways to make the space more accessible for patrons with ADA needs. We don't have ADA designated parking spots nearest the path, but even if we did, the path and ramp is so uneven & not well lit – Lana is using a walker now so Ryan ended up valeting her car for her so that she only had to deal with the ramp and Liz helped her through. Our other previous patrons in wheelchairs have also struggled/needed help (thank you Liz and Ryan!)

Also – I think we would need to do something different about the trash, recycling – including better signage that educates folks about what goes where (like at the Airport or Whole Foods - Ryan is actually making signs for WF as part of a city-wide Zero Waste initiative.)

Holy Mother of all Mules! we had 94 people in the house last night for our penultimate performance! a quieter crowd than Friday's but still very responsive and warm.

Closing tonight has about 30 pre-sold - not bad considering the last minute nature of the rescheduling. (Joplin's also sent me a list of 10 additional folks who might come - fingers crossed!)
