Catalina updates!

Liz, Lisa, and I had a quick Catalina check in yesterday:

Funding update -

• sak is ready to submit Creative Fund app (will also invite them to do a Creative Experience) - they are having a hh on June 22nd at Nightcap (just sent an invite to the event via fbook.)

• Awesome Foundation - still no news, and nothing on twitter (!) - worth submitting new app in June just in case.

• Stillwater foundation - might be worth exploring? suggested by Gail
• HEB - for either food or community grant?
  

Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems - aka: CMPBS

lisa and liz went to see them last week - they are very excited about Catalina and want to talk about a year-long residency on their property

performance dates are Sept 14-16, 21-23, 28-30 Thurs-Sats (with Sundays as rain-back-ups.)

performances would be outside- need to be built from the ground up, stage platform, audience risers, accessible portapotty (though some inside bathrooms available) and lighting rig.

rehearsal on site or at Cambridge Towers (or the church or the Y - so all free options!)

Still want to explore a July fundraising event at CMPBS -  residency announcement/open house (Liz and Lisa will talk to CMPBS about what this could look like and other ways to partner with them throughout the year.)

want to explore creative concessions since this can come back in the budget - would need dedicated person to get sponsorships from food/wine vendors and be responsible for plating each night; maybe add to box office online option so they are pre-bought with only a few available for walk-ups?

we want to continue developing the script - workshop over 2 weekends - read on a sat, Liz re-writes for a week- then a 2nd reading the next Saturday? (Liz will talk to her dramaturg squad and figure out a time?)

We tweaked the budget to more accurately reflect the build process (hopefully CMPBS will be ok w 4K rent?) The new version is attached - we added a composer/musician but the majority of our cast should hopefully be musically inclined as well.... We are still a little short in the budget, but hopefully we either find more savings or one (or more) of our funding efforts is successful.

Dustin's housing can either be Lisa's studio or Spring's guest bedroom (sak will be out of town for 2 weeks during late Aug/early Sept, and don might leave town too so there's the chance Dustin could have the house to himself for a bit) or there is possibly Keri's parents?

Cast is most likely 8 people - many with multiple parts (except for Catalina, Maria, and God?)

Still confirming design team - lighting (Lisa will follow up with Natalie); Costume (EL? Lisa will ask around); Stage Manager (hard no from Kenny? Liz will follow up); Tech Director (Chris Conard? Lisa will follow up)

Need to start scheduling production meetings with everyone!
