Registration is now open to paid up PAPCG members only for our Jan. 18th through 23rd Clayathon Retreat. Space is limited, so even though January 18th is a long way away, you are advised to sign up early if you want to be sure to have a space.
As you may have heard by now, we are moving to a wonderful new home --- the Seaview LaDolce Resort and Country Club. Check it out at
http://www.stocktonseaview.com. We'll be using their beautiful "Eisenhower Room", which is 30 x 62 feet. I anticipate that we will have [9] sets of 4 tables each, with 4 people at each 5' x 12' set. Therefore, we have room for 36 work-spaces plus a demo table, display and supplies table, and oven table. We will be cozy but not constrained. I will try to honor your requests for table mates, as we did last year.
Here are the critical details you need to know before registering:
[1] Hotel room rates are $92.00 per room per night, plus taxes, of course. That amount includes $3 toward pooled tips for bell staff, valet staff and doorman. [Note: it does not include tips for your hotel room server, whom I highly urge you to tip. They are often the lowest paid staff in any hotel, and deserve our support.] Each room contain two queen size beds, coffee, 27" flat screen TVs, and complementary wireless high speed internet; the price does not include breakfast. I don't believe the hotel rooms have refrigerators, although you may be able to rent one from the hotel desk.
[2] Please make your hotel reservations asap, but definitely before June 30th, 2012, because our contract with the Seaview requires us to rent at least 15 hotel rooms for 5 nights each [18th through 22nd]. Upon receipt of your Clayathon registration, I will send you the code for your room reservation at our special rate. Self parking on site is free; Valet parking is $13 per night.
[3] The workshop space will be available to us for a full 6 days--- from 9 am on Friday the 18th through 5 pm on Wed. the 23rd. Hotel room check-in will be 4 pm on Friday the 18th and check out is 11 am on the 23rd, but you can still work/play the extra hours while leaving your luggage in your car during the extra hours.
[4] The hotel has a formal dining room and a bar/light food restaurant, and there are several very nice restaurants within a mile of the hotel. We are not permitted to have a snack table.
[5] Pasta machine motors will NOT be permitted in the workroom. You are welcome to bring and use your motor in your hotel room except between 10 pm and 7 am.
[6] All registrants/participants will be required to supervise the ovens for two [one hour] shifts during the 6 days.
[7] The Fee for our 6-day, 8th Annual Clayathon, is $95. That $95 amount covers our workspace and your share of our general hotel obligations [other than your hotel room], and other general retreat expenses including, we hope, a Guest Artist. Your space is not reserved until Elaine has received your payment.
