Ultimate 6 pm town park

Good morning,

Today is the day for ultimate frisbee at town park. The time for playing will be at 6 pm. 6 pm will be the time that we play. Not 4 pm or 5 pm, but 6 pm. 9 pm is right out. Now that we’ve got that settled, bring your cleats, water, a light shirt, a dark shirt, and some discs if you’ve got them.

I remember when I was younger than I am now and attending college, I would often stay up late in an attempt to finish some sort of project that could easily have been accomplished in the waking hours of a day if only I had a little foresight and planning. This almost never worked satisfactorily. Usually I would stay up late and do some sub par work until the wee hours only to look at it in the morning, bleary eyed, and lament my decision as I would then have to redo/heavily edit the work I had done the night before.
Well, now I have a day planner where I write all of my tasks down ahead of time and plan out my schedule so as to be efficient and productive. I usually do this on a Monday morning to start the week off right. This makes me feel really good and like an adult. So then, why am I so tired this morning having spent the night working on a last minute project that I had planned to work on all week? Ummmmm…the project is taking more time than expected. But, more importantly, I don’t tend to look at my day planner after writing my plans down, which doesn’t make me any more productive. Anyway, come to the flying fork next week and check out my sleepy lights I’ve been working on.

Here's info on a Hat tournament coming up in GJ. I encourage everyone to go to this early season day of Ultimate! Last year was a great tournament.

Westslope Hat Tournament 2024
When: Saturday, May 18, 2024 -- 9am to 3pm 
Where: Canyon View Park (North East fields), Grand Junction 

- All skill levels are welcome and encouraged to play! Teams will be randomly assigned, so even if you've never played ultimate, this is a great chance to learn how to play and make new friends. - Registering beforehand gives us time to prepare, plus you get a free disc if you are one of the first 75 to pay.
- Snacks and water will be provided. Bring cleats (or suitable athletic shoes), a WHITE and dark colored shirt, and a water bottle.
  First 75 to register get a complimentary disc! 

- Cost: 
Early Bird, before May 12 
- Adults: $20 
- Students: $10 
Normal Pricing, May 12 to May 18

FYI, there's an updated location on Saturday:

 Long Park* (3117 F Rd Grand Junction, CO 81504). Parking is across from Central High School on Fledgefield Dr. (The venue was changed from Canyon View due to scheduling conflicts)

Time: Saturday, May 18, 9am to 3pm
Cost: Adults - $25, Students - $15.
Apparel: Bring cleats or athletic sneakers, a dark, and white jersey.
