I just got a request to help an end user (engineer that knows a bit
about networking). Here is what he sent to our helpdesk...
I put the new Gig-e adapter into the computer you gave me the other day,
and it works flawlessly.
Unfortunately, the one on the motherboard has quit. Looks like the MAC
address somehow got erased when I loaded the software for the new
card???? MAC is all zeros.
Do you keep track of these things; or, can you give me a new MAC address
that's not being used? Or???
