In my first official act as a Pants maintainer, it is my pleasure to announce that Joshua Cannon has been elected by the maintainers to Contributor!
Joshua
joined the community over the summer and dove in immediately with
ideas, advocacy, feature requests, and code contributions. Among his
contributions to the project so far:
- Added `--unowned-dependency-behavior` option for Python
- [WIP] `pants clean` goal
- Added a "Pex binaries from sources" macro, with semantics akin to `python_sources`
- Contributed a quote to the Bazel comparison blog post
Joshua
brings enthusiasm for Python and Pants to all of his interactions in the community, and is quickly developing a knack for troubleshooting problems for
himself and others. Most of all, his ongoing contributions of code, feedback, advocacy,
energy, and pithy quotables are helping to make both the project and
community more engaging and useful.
Thank you, Joshua. Congratulations, and welcome to the Pants team!
