The fifth weekly dev release for the 2.14 series is now available on PyPi! Please visit the release page to see the changelog.

A couple of weird notes about this one:
1. You may notice there was no 2.14.0.dev4 - some infrastructure issues got in the way with it, please enjoy dev5 instead!
2. This release bumps the minimum supported macOS version from 10.5 to 11. We're going to see if we can get 10.5 support back, but in the meantime if you foresee this being a big problem for you, please get in touch!

Thank you to this week's contributors:

  A. Alonso Dominguez
  Asher Foa
  Benjy Weinberger
  Carina C. Zona
  Christopher Neugebauer
  Daniel Goldman
  Daniel Wagner-Hall
  Doron Somech
  Eric Arellano
  Eric Jacob
  John Sirois
  Joshua Cannon
  Nimrod Shlagman
  Stu Hood
  Suresh Joshi
  Tom Dyas

And in a bumper-crop week, special thanks to our three new contributors, with their first contributions:
Eric Jacob making pytest more configurable.
Nimrod Shlagman making python dependency inference more broadly usable.
And Carina C Zona with several governance doc updates.
Welcome aboard, thanks so much for your contributions!

The next weekly dev release for the 2.14 series is now available on PyPI! Please visit the release page to see the changelog.

NOTE: We've found a way to continue releasing for macOS 10.15, until we can remove support for that version in an orderly fashion. So unlike the previous dev release, this one includes x86_64 wheels for both macOS 10.15 and macOS 11, as well as an arm64 wheel for macOS 11.

Thank you to this week's contributors:

  A. Alonso Dominguez
  Asher Foa
  Benjy Weinberger
  Carina C. Zona
  Daniel Wagner-Hall
  Eric Arellano
  John Sirois

  Stu Hood
  Suresh Joshi
  Tom Dyas

Cheers,
~ Benjy

The first alpha release for 2.14.0 is now available on PyPI! Please visit the release page to see the changelog.Although alpha release have not received any vetting beyond what a dev release receives, they are the first release for their stable branch, and are worth trying out to help report bugs before we start release candidates.

A special shout-out to two first-time contributors:
+ Huon Wilson with the PR: Disable 80 col hard wrapping in mypy output (#16488)
+ Shantanu Kumar with the PR: Add [flake8].extra_files to allow configuring plugins like Bandit (#16470)
Thank you both for your contributions!

And thank you to everyone who contributed patches in this cycle!

The second alpha release for 2.14.0 is now available on PyPI! Please visit the release page to see the changelog.

Although alpha release have not received any vetting beyond what a dev release receives, they are the first releases for their stable branch, and are worth trying out to help report bugs before we start release candidates.

The next release will likely be the first release candidate for 2.14.
