Dear Eastside Friends,

Thank you for sending me your updates!  I am already receiving calendar data for July & August!  Exciting stuff is being planned. 

We are not just making BBQ THIS summer.  Our PTSA and other groups are already making plans and working for a great next year! 

Sat 6/9/12 is our next PTSA Meeting. 10am - Noon at Nuevo Leon restaurant on E. 6th Street at Onion.

I am including extra information for the following events:

Remember, THIS afternoon, 5/26/12, is the Annual Johnston Memorial Service! Ceremony at 2pm. Reception at 3pm.

Tuesday 5/29/12 is Election Day!  Su Vota es su Voz! 

And Wed 5/30/12 << Oh! my goodness gracious! >> 

Last Day of School in AISD.  Graduation Day for EMHS Seniors.  "Project Graduation" overnight lock-in party (EMHS Grads only). 

Fyi, our "Project Graduation" would love to give "door prizes" to EVERY Grad that attends the party.  If you would like to donate money or items to the project, please contact the AMAZING Ms. Robin Moten, a.s.a.p. at 653-6566.  

Also, because of the "lock-in" format, it would be great to have a few more Adult / Parent / Teacher  volunteers as chaperons.  A few more folks would make for shorter shifts for everyone. That way, no one feels obligated to stay up all night like the Grads.  :-O 

And, a map to the new animal shelter. They are hosting a wonderful FREE program through the end of June. Read about it.  Do it, for your pets.

Because this year, I had trouble getting info when I wanted it.  grrr.   AND >> If anyone can point me to a Great info-site for Juneteenth events? Several times, I have joined the march from the Capitol to HTU. But with 6/19 on a Tuesday, this year. I am hoping that I don't show up on the 19th and discover the public events were the previous weekend!  I find that the papers are not listing 2012 yet. And,  www.geaya.net/  has their stuff, but nothing about the MLK statue at UT, or events at the Capitol (or anything west of Comal).  snort.   Thank you, folks.  =D  toni

Free I.D. tags, collars and HomeAgain Microchips will be offered to all pet owners in the community from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily at the Austin Animal Center in Central East Austin at 7201 Levander Loop. (4 blocks south of Govalle park, off Airport x 183.)
