March 26, 2012: Quick Updates from EM-PTSA

Hello, Friends.

Good Monday to you. I have a few bits of news to pass along. 

One >> Tomorrow, Tuesday 27th, there is an "emergency" CAC Meeting at 5 pm in the Library at EMHS@JC. On the Agenda, a nice organization named Austin Voices for Youth wants to partner with our school! 

Two >> If you took pictures during our wonderful Panther Pride Festival on Saturday, please send us a copy at " www.facebook.com/Pride.of.the.Eastside ". Thanks!

Three >> Congratulations to our students Haley Libbey and Sophia Bui.  Our small but talented UIL Academic Team competed last Saturday the 24th. Haley placed FIRST in Literary Criticism, and will be competing in Regionals on April 21st! And Sophia is the First Alternate by placing 4th!  Their Coach, Gavino Barrera, asks us to "Please congratulate these young ladies when you see them." 

Fourth >> Some sad news, our campus had a student pass away on Saturday, March 24th. The student was a member of the Lifeskills class. There are grief counselors already on campus. And, the school office is preparing a letter to send home to our families. (That is all that I know.) Please be extra patient with members of our campus family.
