Dear experts,
hello!

I plan to use Pantheon as a testing bed for our learning based network scheduling project. But I encountered a problem and I've been trying to figure out it for two weeks.

When I run src/experiments/test.py local --all, it gives me this error:

prompt [tsm]

tunnel manager is running

prompt [tcm]

[tsm] tunnel 1 mm-tunnelserver --ingress-log=/home/zheyang3/Projects/net-sched/pantheon/tmp/fillp_sheep_datalink_run1_flow1_uid773db8cb-408b-4bb0-9b90-cdf15b7c9b77.log.ingress --egress-log=/home/zheyang3/Projects/net-sched/pantheon/tmp/fillp_sheep_acklink_run1_flow1_uid773db8cb-408b-4bb0-9b90-cdf15b7c9b77.log.egress

[tsm] tunnel 1 readline

[tcm] tunnel 1 mm-tunnelclient $MAHIMAHI_BASE 41326 100.64.0.6 100.64.0.5 --ingress-log=/home/zheyang3/Projects/net-sched/pantheon/tmp/fillp_sheep_acklink_run1_flow1_uid773db8cb-408b-4bb0-9b90-cdf15b7c9b77.log.ingress --egress-log=/home/zheyang3/Projects/net-sched/pantheon/tmp/fillp_sheep_datalink_run1_flow1_uid773db8cb-408b-4bb0-9b90-cdf15b7c9b77.log.egress

[tcm] tunnel 1 readline

Tunnelclient listening for server on port 57199

Tunnelclient received no response from tunnelserver, retrying 1/5

Tunnelclient received no response from tunnelserver, retrying 2/5

Tunnelclient received no response from tunnelserver, retrying 3/5

Tunnelclient received no response from tunnelserver, retrying 4/5

So I searched through this group and found a way to debug this. I ran mm-tunnelserver in one terminal and mm-tunnelclient in another terminal, it works fine. But when I ran mm-tunnelserver in one terminal, then in another terminal I first ran mm-link with the provided traces then I ran mm-tunnelclient, it gives the same "Tunnelclient received no response from tunnelserver" error.

Could anyone provide some insights for me please?

Thank you!

Best regards,

Zhe

Problem solved. I'm using ufw and it's blocking connections from within mm-link. I updated the firewall with "
sudo ufw allow from 100.64.0.2" and it's okay now.
