I understand that the figures mean the phrases translated and untranslated from English. Then, why the amounts are different?

Can everyone collaborate to make the translations that are missing? And in this case, how to do it?

Thank you

Joan this is thread is in the EN forum ;)

The numbers are different as we changed the strings yesterday and I need to update the not translated number. The translated number is correct.

I have just updated all translation files. I changed also the order with the new list from more to less translated file, so congratulations for those who made it to the top :)

I am missing 3 files that you sent me over the weekend (NL, FR, RU). I will work on them very soon. Many thanks.

Regarding right to left languages. I had to remove them from the list as there we can not work with them technologically at the moment. I will keep the copy in case we can work on a solution, but it is nothing we can do shortly due to time constrains. I want to apologize publicly to right to left language users. Our intention is to support you and we will try our best to help on this.

I have sent new Czech translation twice last week (14.6.2010 & 17.6.2010, from bures<at>centrum.cz to translation<at>panoramio.com). I see old Czech user interface on Panoramio.com all the time.

I asked you about receiving of translation (http://www.panoramio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27758) but I do not know if you have it. The Czech translation listed here is mostly untranslated. My translation is almost translated (89 % complete).

Did you receive my Czech translation? Could you help me?

Hi Jiri,

Many thanks for your comment. I have added a line at the bottom of the list with the date that I last updated the files in Panoramio, so this way you all know what is the version you are downloading.

Regarding you file, I am working on it. It will be live this week. I am working as well with the fr, nl, and ru files. After this they will be at:

cs: 1095 translated, 273 missing
ru: 1361 translated (completed)
fr: 626 translated, 738 missing
nl: 643 translated, 718 missing

Thanks to you, Arno Commandeur, Cédric Gobet, and Ipaat for this bulk!

Thanks to all of you.

I have updated the ranking of translated files already and I am happy to see that we already have 3 languages fully translated (I will rebuild those files this week as I see there is a discrepancy in the number of strings).

Big kudos too to Czech, Portuguese and French who climbed many positions.

Hi all.

I rebuilt the translation files with all the translations you sent me up to today, and I incorporated new strings and removed unused ones for all languages.

The problem is that we will not release a new Panoramio version today, so this changes will have to wait until Monday.

Meanwhile I encourage you to enjoy a wonderful weekend discovering the world and sharing it with the rest via your Panoramio photos, and in case of rain... just surf Google Earth and start making plans for the future ;)

This weekend weather is uncertain in Switzerland and I wanted to go hiking but we will see!

Have a nice weekend.

Hi, Gerard!

I'm glad that now my name is listed on Panoramio team page - http://www.panoramio.com/team/ - but in this list an error has been occured. My name (Belarusian: Сергей Большаков) doesn't link on my page but links on page "Macedonian: Nikolče Stojanoski&quot;))
Correct please this mistake.

And one more. A week ago I sent to you updated belarussian translation (61% complet)? but I've worked with old version of file (where 1358 strings but not 1478 as now). At this reason there is different in 140 traslated strings between two version - old version translated more than that new. So I don't want to lose my work. May be you can after upgrading file that I sent, add to it new strings and then list it among other files hier - http://www.panoramio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27757.

Hi, it seems that new strings have been added to Panoramio Help page. In the Statistic Help Page, the English phrases are not present in my downloaded PO File. Here is a short example:

Quote:
Every photo and every user on Panoramio has an associated statistics page. We call this feature Panoramio Stats. Stats pages can be reached from the corresponding photo and user pages by clicking on the stats section on the right panel.

Both the photo stats and the user stats pages have a little summary at the top above the charts. The photo stats summary shows the number of total views, the number of comments, the number of users who marked the photo as favorite, i.e., starred the photo, and number of users who have pressed the like button under the photo. Users that selected the photo as one of their favorites, if any, are listed below the charts.

The user stats summary list has the total number of uploaded and the number of photos accepted by our Google Earth moderation process, as well as the number of Panoramio members who have chosen the corresponding user as favorite. Below the charts on the user stats page you can see a list of the photographer's most recently viewed photos on Panoramio.com.

I can*t find those phrases in my English original PO file. Where can i download the updated English PO file?

Hi,
at first I have sent you a new german translation.
And the second thing is, that the Link "Download the translation file" (first point) in http://www.panoramio.com/help/translator doesn't end in the right point.
Greetings,

Gerard Sanz

Thanks Philpp. All the files are here:
http://www.panoramio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27757

I will correct the link as soon as I get back to the office. Many thanks.

Ok,thank You Gerard. As soon i will complete this update, i will send to you. One more issue with the English PO file. A link is broken in the uploading photo Help section. Can you please correct in the EN file as well this?

I suggest changing <a href=\"/help/uploading_photos\"> (please search it in the file) to <a href=\"/help/adding_photos#uploading_photos\"> to correct the error.

Thank you.

Thanks I will. My question is though... Why are you using the EN version and not the RO one? I actually think the EN version should not be used at all.

This link is broken in my Ro file also (copied or updated from the old original EN file). I have updated in my translated RO string, but the EN string is the same old broken link. This broken link is in the new provided updated RO file as well. Here is the EN string that appears in my newest RO file (updated).

Quote:
If you are an advanced user who geocodes photos before uploading them, skip this section and refer to <a href=\"/help/uploading_photos\">Uploading geocoded photos</a>.

So, when you have time please check the EN file for that link.

Secondly, i found on the Data Api Help Page (http://www.panoramio.com/api/data/api.html) that some untranslated english text does not appear in my PO file. Here are the phrases:

1.
Quote:
Photos provided by Panoramio. Photos are under the copyright of their owners.

2.
Quote:
It's a very simple REST api, you only have to do a GET on:
http://www.panoramio.com/map/get_panoramas.php?set=public&from=0&to=20&minx=-180&miny=-90&maxx=180&maxy=90&size=medium&mapfilter=true

for "set" you can use:
public (popular photos)
full (all photos)
user ID number

for "size" you can use:
original
medium (default value)
small
thumbnail
square
mini_square

the minx, miny, maxx, maxy define the area to show photos from (minimum longitude, latitude, maximum longitude and latitude, respectively).

.
.
.
.
.
until this line:
Quote:
It's also available as JSONP, just add an extra callback=your_function_name to the GET, and you will get:
your_function_name({ "count": 773840, "photos": [...] })

3. Why does this phrase not show the link at the end of it?
Quote:
Looking for the Panoramio Data API? It's available, you'll find\n
it <a href=\"/api/data/api.html\">here</a>
. In my Panoramio page the text appears translated but without a link asociated with the last word (in your case *here*, in my case *aici*). This way is the phrase shown in my Panoramio page:

Quote:
Căutați Datele API Panoramio? Sunt disponibile aici

The word *aici* supposed to be linked to http://www.panoramio.com/api/widget/api.html URL. I don*t know what the error could be, although the translated text is syntax identically with the EN text.

Can you tell me please where can i find those translations in my PO file? Thank you and please excuse for the bother.

Hi Gerard, i have completed the new updated Romanian PO FIle and also checked the entire file for mistakes, mismatches and errors. So, for now, this file is gramatically error-free and clean to update the old translated file.

I will send you today, 30 Dec 2010, a personal message too, and attach the file in your Inbox.

Happy New Year and a prosperous 2011 Year.

Best wishes from Romania, Vicentiu

Hi Gerard, how are you? Hard work in 2011...? If you remember i have sent you just before New Year, the COMPLETE TRANSLATED, ERROR FREE, CHECKED EN2RO Panoramio FIle.

Two days ago i have posted in our ROmanian Forum section, a topic for suggestions for this translated RO FIle, and said there that this file is 100% translated (in your translation section where all those files are listed, is the 97% completed PO File, translated before those December new added strings). So far i*ve recieved 2-3 suggestions from other Romanian Panoramio Users and i want to update those strings.

My favour is to wait some days to see if others have other suggestions and when done, the updated, completed, checked PO FIle will be sent to you as soon as possible.

Sure thing. I have not been able yet to work on the translation files after NY. I will try to do it this week. But in any case it is something I do every week so if you do not have the time to send me a new version before I update the current one, no problem as this can be done again next week.

Cheers,
Gerard

Hi Gerard,

It appears that there have been changes and additions to Panoramio pages. Therefore, I would like to add and correct Thai translations. However, I do not see the latest version of Thai file listed here. I would appreciate if you could list it for download so that I can continue with the translation. Thanks

Regards,

Hi Gerard,

Dutch translation completed save for the odd typo and other errors. When I say odd, I mean: I probably missed many of them.

Hi Amjad,

I am afraid there is not. I do check the fields for corruption so you should not be afraid of breaking the translation, but we can not check the accuracy of what you translate. Once this is live, you can correct it if there was a mistake.

Cheers,
Gerard

Hi,

I'm currently taking a shot at the remaining lines in the Dutch translation (assuming noone else is doing the same at the moment?).

I'm having one problem: Poedit gives me an error on line 2479, but there is no such line in the file. How do I fix that?

Error: `msgid' and `msgstr' entries do not both end with '\n'
