Expecting the same old, response, anyway!

When looking at a users photos on the map they are displayed in popularity order, if the slideshow is launched from here, it would be nice to maintain that order instead of resorting back to date of upload.

The slideshow is probably a very under utilized feature, because it's so inefficient to see the best photos. so what's the point.

Why create a slide show probably no one watches?

People will only use the viewer to look at on or two consecutive pictures.

If Panoramio want's to maximize the photos and make the site sticky then they should make an effort to give the user a better experience.

well, that´s why they integrated the slideshow in the explorer, so you can start it wherever you like ;-)

But doesnt that defeat the purpose of a slideshow! I thought the purpose was to sit back and watch and not peck thru choosing individual photos from the explorer.

I ask for this because it's apparent that thumbnail nor picture pages do photos justice in so far as admiring photography. Many photo's are gorgeous  when view large, but only OK or skipped completely as a thumbnail or medium size photo.   This is particularly true with photos which have a lot of shade in them, as the detail is lost.

Perhaps something like this would serve your purpose:

http://www.panoramio.com/wapi/template/slideshow.html?user=710258&delay=5&width=1867&height=940&bgcolor=%23000000

You can adjust the user number as needed as well as the width and height values. Those values happen to work well on my monitor to give a fairly large view of the pictures.

Most people will not have a tag named  *  (it is not a place holder as I first assumed) and so this link will not work with their user number. The * needs to be replaced with a tag you have (this parameter is case sensitive!)

Also this link does not show the photos sorted by popularity, as they seem to be on the panoramio map under the tab "your photos", which was the original request.

You're right, I thought I had edited the tag section out.
