yellow thumbtacks in google earth

most of my pictures in google earth appear as yellow thumbtacks with the title next to them instead of blue dots. They also only appear at extremely low zoom levels and they don't load properly when I click on them

Sounds like you have the locations saved as placemarks in the left hand column.
Turn them off and zoom in low to see if the blue squares become visible.

As you hve only been a member for a short time please check that your photos were reviewed and accepted prior to the last Google Earth update

Please give more details than "they don't load properly"

There are yellow pins like for cities in GE and also most of the klicked pictures showing gray plots, no pictures.

Thanks, I see it now, guess I looked at pictures with lower IDs from that user. Shows the reason why it is important to give example IDs when posting such problems in the forum

It`s up from about ID 24.400.000 with gray plots!

Photos from the last update with the number lower than 24.400.000 are also shown as the yellow thumbtack, but will upload normally, for example my photo 23908540. Photos with the IDs greater than 24.400.000 wouldn't upload after the first click on the yellow thumbtack. The second click would open Panoramio in GE, showing the photo. That is the case with several of my photos, for example 24353227.

Some pictures with ID lower than 24.400.000 (e.g. my 24.391.165) open not normally (as in good old former times) but in the way Mira describes in his third sentence.
In the first window a blue white circle with three white sqares inside is shown. No idea what this wants to tell us...

Hi one and all.

I too have seen my photos recently in GE as yellow thumbtacks. These either open normally or open wit the blue circle and white squres, which when clicked on, open the preceeding photo for a second or two, then opens the right photo. These apply to 24045154 to 24372538. All these photos have been approved by panoramio but I wouldn't of thought they were due to be loaded by GE till around the 25th of the month. Photo's up to 24594804 have been approved for loading with the blue logo, but do not appear on GE one way or another. All my previous phot's (as far as I know) are seen on GE with the usual blue square. What a mystery!

Four of my most recently reviewed pictures are also shown as yellow thumbtacks on Google Earth. They are photos about metro stations, with low photo ID number, and they appear at very high altitude (over 50km). You may open your Google Earth and look at Shanghai at 50km altitude to view them.

All my pictures up to ID 23,755,193 are shown as blue dots and work fine. All pics with IDs higher than this number (the vast majority of my pictures) are yellow pins. Of these, most open properly but a few of the more recent ones do not. For example, ID 24,360,840 does not work but ID 24,360,847 does work. The ones that do not work just show the little GE symbol with 3 white dots, and when I click on that symbol it opens a panoramio page and links to the photo the way it's supposed to. There seems to be some sort of glitch either in panoramio or google earth.
