I´m aware that I´m bending our rules by not putting this in the miscellaneous forum, but not everybody reads that forum.

When you have a Google account, and you have, you automatically have an account on Google Photos and on Google Drive
If you never have visited those sites, I think it´s high time, you might be surprised how many files of you are out there. Info is depending on what I know at this moment, Google can change anything without saying a word

Let´s start with your storage room on Google:
Standard you have 15 GB storage room for free, anything more will cost you.

Your storage is shared across:

Google Drive

Files up to 5 TB each. Anything you create with Docs, Sheets or Slides won’t use up any of your storage.

Gmail

Attachments sent and received in Gmail as well as your email messages use your storage.

Google Photos

Per your Google Photos settings, High Quality uploads are stored for free but Original quality uploads will use up your Drive storage. high Quality means <2048 pixels at one side, everything bigger counts.

Google Drive:
Google drive basically works like a hard drive, but then on the web

You can also get Drive for your PC / mobile device, just download, it gives you an extra space in explorer. You can access the drive from any device anywhere on the world, which can be easy. Of course you have to be very careful about what you put on it, if not hackers Big Brother is always watching you.

Very important for us here is Google Photos which you can access on an easy way from here. You find all your photos uploaded, but not from Panoramio (yet?) . It´s possible you find photos here you never knew you uploaded them (from Picasa, to Picasaweb, to G+, to Views) You can easy delete them here. click and delete. Be aware! They now come to the Bin. So you have to delete them there a second time. When I emptied my bin I went back from 11GB storage to 3GB so in any case have a look there!

Google Photos:

Here you will find all the photos you ever uploaded to Google by sharing over Picasa, Picasaweb, Views, Google+ or just clicking the "uploading to webalbum" link in the explorer of your OS. Some mobile devices send every photo you take directly to Google Photos.

All photos are private by default unless you shared them. Photos from Views are shared publicly by default.

You can edit photos here, you can also delete albums or individual photos, click the three horizontal lines top left, click collections, click the collection you want to delete or go to the individual photo, klick on the three dots top right, click delete. Hey, use Google Drive to delete, or you get a grey beard as I have !   Beware, photos deleted in Gphotos will end up in your bin from Gdrive. You will have to delete them there again!

Summary:

This is a warning for you, you perhaps don´t know what´s happening behind your back. I´m sure many Google user doesn´t know he has an account on Drive and Photos and has no idea of which (privacy sensitive) data he has on the web, yes they´re secure (until the time someone decides otherwise), but be sure you know.

Sorry for all the !!

I´m sure someone would be able to make a presentation with slides (cf.  MS Powerpoint) or a doc(ument) with many photos which will contain TB´s of info. As Docs, Sheets and Slides don´t count for your storage ther´s only the limit of 5TB. I copy/pasted this info, so it really says 5TB

I have thousands of photos I have shared via Google+.  Most of them were uploaded through the old Panoramio to Google+ transfer, but hundreds of others were publicly shared directly through Google+, either individually or through shared albums.  When I go to Google Photos, I see...one photo.

So...once again, Google seem to be inconsistent.

However, after a long time I uploaded some photos to Panoramio and those photos don't appear in Google Photos.

Hi, Tom,

I don't understand that. When I go to Google Photos, direct ( https://photos.google.com/ ) or via Google+ I can see all of my photos.
All the ones of my Panoramio-account PLUS all the photos I uploaded on Google+

Update:  Sorry, I'm lying. A second, better, look tells me, that no upload after May 25, 2015 is shown.
Only the older uploads

Greetings, Wim

Good evening everybody,

all of my pictures are published via Panoramio and are additionally publicly shared via G+.

When I login to photos.google.com, the latest pictures displayed there were published in September 2014.

Among my 170 Panoramio images that were published since September 2014 not a single one appears in photos.google.com

Greetings

Frank

GDrive should show the same as Gphotos. I suppose the photos from PA that zou found are the ones you transferred to G+ yourself. The Panoramio photos, selected or not, show up in GM on your own contributions, but for that we have an other thread.

I'm almost sure that the PA photos will end up in photos too, it seems logical to me. Well I suggested the name Photos to them, I wouldn't at all be surprised if they will go with some other suggestions I made too. They never will tell, I'm sure :-)

As you suggested I checked Google Photos/Drive for the first time. Not one of my  (PA) photos showed up there. The reason for that might be that my Google account is old and it is a NON  Gmail account. Further I never made it into a G+ account.

You may be right, though it has nothing to do with the kind of email address (just as info) . You still can start a G Account with any email address.
