Files up to 5 TB each. Anything you create with Docs, Sheets or Slides won’t use up any of your storage.
Attachments sent and received in Gmail as well as your email messages use your storage.
Per
your Google Photos settings, High Quality uploads are stored for free
but Original quality uploads will use up your Drive storage. high Quality means <2048 pixels at one side, everything bigger counts.
You can also get Drive for your PC / mobile device, just download, it gives you an extra space in explorer. You can access the drive from any device anywhere on the world, which can be easy. Of course you have to be very careful about what you put on it, if not hackers Big Brother is always watching you.
Very important for us here is Google Photos which you can access on an easy way from here. You find all your photos uploaded, but not from Panoramio (yet?) . It´s possible you find photos here you never knew you uploaded them (from Picasa, to Picasaweb, to G+, to Views) You can easy delete them here. click and delete. Be aware! They now come to the Bin. So you have to delete them there a second time. When I emptied my bin I went back from 11GB storage to 3GB so in any case have a look there!
Google Photos:
Here you will find all the photos you ever uploaded to Google by sharing over Picasa, Picasaweb, Views, Google+ or just clicking the "uploading to webalbum" link in the explorer of your OS. Some mobile devices send every photo you take directly to Google Photos.
All photos are private by default unless you shared them. Photos from Views are shared publicly by default.
You can edit photos here, you can also delete albums or individual photos, click the three horizontal lines top left, click collections, click the collection you want to delete or go to the individual photo, klick on the three dots top right, click delete. Hey, use Google Drive to delete, or you get a grey beard as I have ! Beware, photos deleted in Gphotos will end up in your bin from Gdrive. You will have to delete them there again!
Summary:
This is a warning for you, you perhaps don´t know what´s happening behind your back. I´m sure many Google user doesn´t know he has an account on Drive and Photos and has no idea of which (privacy sensitive) data he has on the web, yes they´re secure (until the time someone decides otherwise), but be sure you know.
Sorry for all the !!

Good
evening everybody,
all of my
pictures are published via Panoramio and are additionally publicly shared via G+.
When I login to photos.google.com, the latest pictures displayed there were published in
September 2014.
Among my
170 Panoramio images that were published since September 2014 not a single one appears in photos.google.com
Greetings
Frank
