Hello, I cannot return to Panoramio Classic after a quick view of the new design.  I have been going back and forth many times already but I'm blocked now.
Can you help please?
Regards

Hi Fonfon,

We don't plan to support the Classic view for much longer, and for this reason no longer offer the link to go back to Classic any more.  We want to put our focus on looking forward, and if you do spot bugs in the new view, please start a separate thread and let us know.  Thanks!

Meanwhile the shadow of Panoramio Classic is still live, you can use these link to switch back and forth:

http://www.panoramio.com/do/disable_acrylic_ui (use it at your own risk, as this version is officially "discontinued").

and within new design you can see favourite photos here (choose desired user ID):

;-)

But as Adam has said - there is only one road forward.
While I cannot see complete titles of photos, list of tags under each photo thumbnail and "readable" aligning of thumbnails in the gallery page, I am going to stick with classics as long as possible.

Yes, classic panoramio no longer seems to be accessible. So be it, the new look is much better, visually.

However, some groups still do not have an 'add' button next to them, so that no photos can be added. And I am still at a loss on how to access my favorite photos by other photographers ...

Shouldn't these rather basic issues have been resolved before deleting the classic version?

I dont like the new Panoramio at all, it slows my computer to a crawl, is overly problematic and I prefer the simple Classic Design... Pano need to stop fiddling about like FB does..

Go back to classic .

I don't know what kind of computer you have, but when my computer was crawling (instead of racing, as it does now), I'd buy a new one!
Don't blame the software for hardware limitations

It's not like that all the time.

I don't know if your play video games or are you even familiar with a couple of newly released. But, recently Call of Duty Ghosts was released and hardware requirements are just ridiculously insane (quad core cpu, graphic card with 2gb od vram (new, and more powerfull cards have that), 6GB's of ram... AND when you finally manage to enter the game, in the terms of graphic, IT IS the same as Call of Duty game before it. Which is probably 2 or 3 times less hardware consuming game. There are even games that look much better than Ghosts, but are less hardware demanding.

So, the point of this liitle text is to point out that on certain products optimisation isn't a familiar word or they just don't care. I don't say it's the same with Google Groups, but it ain't far. This forum to a majority of Panoramio members, from the first day of its introduction, wasn't promising. I gave it a chance, but as days go by, it really starts to bore me down with loading times, to say at least (and i have fast internet connection 50mbps, quad core cpu...).

In the end, I'm a patient man, so I'll just have to wait (like the rest of members) and see what happens next.

Thank you, Tomas, for helping me to get rid of the horrible "improvements" and get back to nice-looking and, most importantly, functional user interface of Panoramio. Now I can see again not only photo titles, but also what photos are tagged and with what tags – a very important functionality that seems to be gone in the "improved" version.

Hopefully this link will keep working, as I was seriously thinking about discontinuing my photo contributions to Panoramio and Google Earth.

Unfortunately, I don't think the classic version will be kept indefinitely...

Why not repair the acylic version first, and then discontinue the classic one? Why do you force a collection of bugs on us?
It has not been so long ago that the group feature was introduced with great effort, and now it is completely unusable. The bugs are well known and have long been reported, but nothing has happened since.
To me it looks like the new groups design was programmed by some students, not professionals, who completely ommited any test, or did just test with one user, who had one photo, adding it to one group. Otherwise the problems are just too obvious not to notice.

it would of been better to keep the classic view at least until the new version had all the bugs ironed out and had the same functionality as the classic. there are still things missing and not working in the new version, like look around icons, pics don't have the "mapped" symbol, the quick scroll function underneath the picture to scroll left and right (I don't mean the next and previous buttons).
there is quite a lot of stuff to be honest. if we are going to be made to use the new version, well, that kinda thing happens I can deal with it and accept it, even if im not a huge fan of the new design, but at least it should work the same and have the same functions as the old.

I visited friends yesterday to see this site on an iPad. I was so disappointed because it came up in the new version, and I couldn't find the link to show in the old version.

I tried to show off many of my images, but all the bugs got in the way. I gave up and we went on to other things.

I'm starting to think I wasted a lot of time this past year processing images for uploading only to see them hosted in a manner that makes them look cluttered and crammed onto a page. The greatest problem was going to groups to show how much fun we have, but the groups I participate in where we post sequential images are jumbled now making the groups pointless. Sure didn't make sense on the iPad!

The greatest problem with the new pages is the difference in size of the horizontal and vertical images. The old version showed them the same which is exactly as it should be!

Do you always have to put people down? It was a legitimate complaint.

Adam - I hope you realize that there is a lot of objection to this new PA version - many people don-t like it .  I don-t like it so much either because it does not work properly, also the comment pictures are much too small.  Generally a new layout seems a good idea - but it must be better than the old version & it must work. Until everything works properly you should let the users decide which version they prefer. No use forcing people into this new version if they don-t like it and can-.t use it properly ;) !!

I have to say that, in my humble opinion, the introduction of the new design has been handled in a very amateurish way.  I do not like the new design but that aside, the introduction of a new design that was bug ridden, back in August, as a default (rather than as a beta) was very badly handled.  I find it incredible that two and a half months later with many of the bugs, which were reported on numerous occasions, still not fixed Classic view is removed.  While I am not so naive to think that Pano members have any say in how the site is run, I would have thought that the Google association would have ensured certain professional standards were maintained. I believe ‘The Team’ have agenda other than improving Panoramio which we are not privy to so for my part I’ll hold off on any further uploads until I see what way things pan out.

You say it! Exactly what I feel, too.

I also wonder why Adam asked for bug reports when he got so many before, and quite a lot of these had not been fixed yet.
The look of  many pages and their arrangement of photos is just a mess.

I want the classic Panoramio back too!

I tried this New one and in the very beginning of watching my own photos I can't get forward from the 1st (newest) picture. The arrows under the picture dont work. The left pointing arrow is a link but there isn't any newer pictures!
The right pointing arrow to see the second newest picture isn't a link at all.

I'm having very wide panoramas and also some vertical photos. In the new Panoramio it looks really disorganized. I do not like!

Hi Adam Lasnik,

Only hope I would like to have is that You (Pano Team) are going to repair all bugs, and make the "new"...hmm...acrylic (!) Panoramio at least such functionally like the "old" Panoramio.

All Your current and historical "desires" to make Panoramio's UI better, were and (unfortunately) still are completely unsuccesful.
It is a pity, because I loved Panoramio Idea...

One more matter...I hope, that You will leave possibility of use "old" Panoramio until the "acrylic one" will begin to work properly...
I suppose, that We, Pano Users deserve for such kindness of Pano Team side, as we are the people thanks to whom panoramio exist...

Hi Adam Lasnik
My problem with the new view is that the viewing page is too wide. My screen resolution is 1024x768, so I'm unable to see the tags, groups, or favourite fotographers. With a screen resolution of 1280x1024 its ok, but not ideal for reading text. Maybe you need a horizontal scroll bar as well as the vertical one, and keep the classic view available as an option. I accept that technology need to move forwards.
