There are problems with "views on Map" in Panoramio;
from april 30, I cannot see newly uploaded photos, nor in the "Your Photos" tab nor in the "recent" tab.

I did some checking on my photos and also on those of other users (my favorites)
and I can confirm that even with their latest uploads there are problems, that is: photos aren't visible on the map.

From further checking with p-track (a user-generated tool) I was able to ascertain that the field "upload date"
of the most recent photos [roughly from April 28 to 29] is set to "N / A"

I have been uploading photos from the Washington, D.C. area for the last 3 weeks and none of them are showing up in recent tab. I have uploaded over 40 images, so far, and 12 this week that do not appear. I do see them in the "my photos" tab.

The likely answer from the Team will be:

"The issue has been reported, we are working to fix it as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience".

The Team will not tell you exactly what it is going on (that would be disclosing information they don't want to disclose). And they won't disclose it even if you or any user has the appropriate knowledge and expertise to solve the problem.

So, as moderator I will answer your question:

1) The issue has been reported it (by users first, then pinged to the Team by moderator/s)
2) The Team are aware of it and working to fix it
3) No, there isn't a deadline or a likely date when it will be fixed
4) Sorry for the inconvenience (on behalf of the Team)
5) Thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation

This is just history repeating. The same problem happened end of last year, and it took at least four weeks until it was fixed.

It doesn't look like this team has become any quicker in fixing problems, with so many things still in need to be repaired - and no improvement being seen at all.

And in regard to the problems with transfer to Google Earth I wonder if it makes any sense now to upload photos at all??

Unfortunately, you are right. And even though it is not advisable to speak on behalf of someone else, let me say that all moderators share your concern.

Whether it makes sense to upload photos at all, it is a very personal decision. I haven't uploaded photos in a year (and I have taken quite a few in two trips).

I am just disappointed. I have traveled to some lovely place, made some good pics and can't see them on my map, which I compose since 2008. Dear Team hurry up fixing thath bug and don't make me drop Panoramio

I came across this thread having recently uploaded a number of photos and noticed their non -appearance on the world map. I have taken note of the moderators comment but I have two questions:

1. When these problems arise could the team post a notice on the upload page to advise so that users can decide if they want to wait for the problem to be fixed before uploading?

2. Recently uploaded photos can be viewed on the world map with the ‘recent’ option, usually for about seven days. Whilst this problem persists will a photos delayed appearance on the world map prevent it from the benefit of appearing in ‘recent ‘ ?

Hi haut medoc

What kind of notice are you proposing? One like a "noticeboard" at the top of the forum? That's something moderators could do. In fact, the Team are aware of the problems once users post here. Those problems are drawn to the attention of the Team by moderators as soon as we read them.

From experience, we could say the updates from the Team never commit to a date when bugs are to be fixed.

There is little point in posting a notice in the forum since users are not going to search the forum everytime they upload their photos. I am suggesting that a notice could be posted in the ‘Upload yours photos’ page.

Do you have an answer for my second question?

Regarding your second question, I don't know for certain but I don't think so.

Still nothing... No new pictures on map, neither under "recent pictures tab". It's pathetic ! How long should we wait?

It took 4 or 5 months until the GE-problem last year was solved, do the math. In fact, as we can see, the problem has not really been solved, obviously just a workaround for some basic problems in the communication beween Panoramio and GE.

I have already 64 pages of pics where most of them do not appear on GE. Many are in areas where there are almost no pictures on GE.

Please stay on topic. This thread is about photos not showing up on the Panoramio map, there is an other thread about pictures not showing up in GE / GM

In General: The teams are aware of the problem(s), there is no indication when this will be solved.

I don't want to be boring, and certainly not put pressure,
just make an update on the state of the art, as far as we [the users] can ascertain.
In Panoramio  maps, the tabs "your photos" and "recent" are no longer updated from 29 April.
You can check: as "recent" photos are visible only those uploaded on April 29; despite that, these photos do not disappear even though after 15 days.
It seems that the whole process on recent photos has been suppressed or frozen.
In this way, it makes no sense to keep visible this tab  whereas it shows only photos uploaded last month, while the new ones aren't displayed.
Thanks in advance
Paolo

Paolo, the moderators are in an ongoing discussion with the team about this. Please rest assured that we put as much pressure as we can on the team to prioritize this. I understand your anxiety to see this solved, we feel the same and can only agree with you for Panoramio is supposed to be showing (quote)  places through photography: cities, natural wonders, or anywhere you might go,.....,. a place to see the world . Without a map this is not possible.

Something is happening! hooray!
Finally I can see on the Map of Panoramio (tab: Your photos) the photos that I had loaded at the beginning of May.
This is an encouraging sign, it means that the team is working to solve the problems, although I fear that the road is still long:
  • tab "Recent" don't work yet
  • My latest photos, uploaded two days ago, are not on my Map (tab: Your photos):
below the IDs of photos in question:
  • 107994369
  • 107994350
  • 107994333
  • 107994313
  • 107994299
  • 107994287
  • 107994270
  • 107994256
  • 107994244
Have a nice day

I am very happy.  My first post ever.  I've been watching these forums for the past week.  I was about to give up on Panoramio because of the map issue.  Without getting pictures on maps, posting to Panoramio is practically worthless.

However, today I am finally seeing my pictures from the past two months on the Panoramio map.  I can also happily report that my pictures from April and early May are finally showing up on Google Maps.
