Anyone else getting this error, upload speed erratic very slow and ends with this message!  Cant upload even small files  4-5mb.

I had tried many times >5 and failed to upload.  While trying again,  I went  to my Gmail account, and my upload finished in <1 min!   Connections?

uploaded about 26 photos some 7 hours ago. the biggest resolution was 8,552 × 5,910 (50.5 megapixels) 9,084,417 bytes (8.7 megabytes) using G`+

the biggest in size was 10,1 MB directly from my computer, no problems what so ever

Uploaded 39 pictures 2 hours ago. All 3072x2048 resolution. I was using Chrome but I must admit I was using the old version of Panoramio because it better suits my needs. No problem whatsoever. I also did a test upload in the new version; no problem either. Your server error was either very temporary or very local. To a computer novice I would say: did you try rebooting you computer? but I'm sure you did so before posting your question in the forum... ;-)

I tried several browsers, reboot computer and router, I would suspect my ISP, but Panoramio has been so unreliable in so many aspects, it complicates things. 

Maybe a local problem, down loads fine, but download bandwidth usually faster than upload bandwidth. ;-(

I see you just uploaded some new photos the other day. How did your problem solve? Just by waiting some weeks?

Today I'm plagued by the same thing; the upload speed is normal but the error comes up regardless of the file size.

I'm brand new to Panoramio and got this error trying to upload my first photos! Fairly small photos (5-10mb); using Firefox 27.0.1; tried restarting browser and with add-ons disabled, with no luck. At work at the mo, will try again at home with different ISP.

Iam in Dresden and have the same problem. I can only bet that a Hacker attack must be the reason due conflicts or similar.

Upload difficulties escalated to the admins. They sit closer to truth than any of us are.

Tim - I'm curious when you say "Fairly small photos (5-10mb)". To me they are huge for viewing on any computer screen. I understand large files for printing, but images of 1MB uploaded get reduced to 150-500kb in the slide show and that's the largest viewing on screen I'm aware of in Panoramio.

I'm interested in feedback of optimal upload file size from Moderators.

In my opinion, due to copyright violation issues and taking into account an optimal viewing on regular monitors (21 inches), the smaller, the better. In other words, from 500KB to 1 MB maximum.

Among the popularity factors identified is photo resolution in Pixels.  None of us knows exactly what that means (for example, it could mean photos over 1024 pixels on a side are rated higher, or it could mean there's a scale based on total number of pixels, or it could be three ranges, or...all speculation).  But that could be a reason for uploading larger images.

Have you logged out, cleared cache, deleted cookies and logged in again?

I used to get this on Chrome on my home PC, I would log in on my laptop and it was fine.

please elaborate; is this one photo or are there more?

Did you verify:

- it´s a photo in JPG format

- the size of the photo doesn´t exceed 100 Megapixels.

- the size of the photo is < 25 MB

Do you know what´s going on to my last 2 pictures uploaded?

There is title, tags and icons but the image appears to be deleted once clicking on it. e.g. "Photo with id 121359655 has been deleted". "Photo with id 121359651 has been deleted."

They both do not appear in my gallery!

Does the path to the file or the file name contain a special character (such as &, #, %, (, ))?

The path is the fill address to the file (usually starts with C:\ and ends with .jpg)
