Fujifilm S4000 firmware update

Hi, I shamefully bought a Fujifilm S4000 camera. They said they will fix a big bug it has (pictures look like a painting most of the time, a cheap cellphone can take better pictures than this camera). But as far as I know, they already made a new model (the S4000A) and they even made an update/upgrade to this model, but they do warn users not to apply this patch to S4000 model.

Is anyone sufferring the same problem?

Yes the S4000 is at least two years old and received very bad reviews when it was released for sale.
