You've composed this image well. Simple yet effective. The trees on the left and right of the frame are complementing the deer in the middle.
 
I also like the blurring of the tree in the foreground. This effect goes perfectly well with the shallow DoF behind the animal, making the viewer catch the main subject's attention instantly.
 
Besides, the deer is exposed correctly, making the spots on it's fur appear prominent. BTW, the picture looks like taken in some wildlife reserve. Is It ?

You did well with what you had. This is a very nice photo. The only thing that catches my attention is the dead branches sticking up towards the right of the frame, because one of them is slightly in front of the deer. Without the branches, I wouldn't be able to find an issue with it.

Cow Girl has put her finger on the most distracting feature. In that sense I would have taken this shot as a banker, before trying to very slowly mover myself to a position that cured that problem.

Also whilst the focus on the deer is good it ain't perfect.

The main thing is I hope that you enjoyed the moment.
