Hello everyone. I just wanted to share my disappointment towards panoramio closing it´s doors forever. It has not been too long since I heard about this. I have been looking for some information but did not succeed.
I do plan all my holidays (every year) using google earth. The best geographical tool I know about. Once I open google earth, I choose a city, and start opening random pictures and saving some for later, of course these pictures are public and  use them ase a powerful reference.

Now getting to the point, does anyone know what will happen to google earth´s  Panoramio photographs after its closure? I mean, will all those pictures still be available? will they disappear from google earth?
If you know something regarding changes I will truly appreciate any info.
Thanks in advance,
....a travel fan.

Unfortunately, there is no official info about Google Earth (GE).

However, many people (including me) speculate about the possible demise of GE.
Hints:
- Photos neither from Panoramio nor from Google Maps (GM) are not added for long time
- No visible development (no new features, no new information layers)... whereas and meanwhile many small changes are rolled up on GM
- Pro version of GE is now for free
- No many mentions about GE in Google official posts about their products (example: Panoramio death announcement is all about transfer oft he photos to GM, but not about GE)
- future of the applications is a thin/web client (app running from web/cloud on a device within a browser, without installation)

Focus is clearly on GM. Let's see how long will be GE with us...
