I think we need a new group category - Create, Recruit, Ignore.  We could abbreviate it CRI (pronounced "cry").  It's for all those groups that get created, the owner goes out and recruits a bunch of people, then proceeds to ignore the group.

I just went through and withdrew applications for a number of groups that have never been approved or rejected.  I have not applied for a group in months, so there's been plenty of time to respond.

Alas, I know how things work here.

Draken, I think its something that popped up on the horizon about one and a half years ago but was quickly invaded by the almost silent  administrative cricket ( administratus forgotticum )

ah groups, yes something comes to mind, but the age interferes. Introduced to the mods as the big change in PA, worked on for more then a year with full force and then went in oblivion because users asked for things to manage these groups, like deleting a photo among 10000 others.

It´s like in Harry Potter; the thing that should not be named.

Ah, now I get it!

Groups were created, then recruited, and now ignored.  That model has now been followed by almost all individual groups!  This counts as near 100% success, doesn't it?

Sorry.  I know this has nothing new.  It's just that I want to CRI.

If I look at the forum messages concerning groups (the last one was from feb 7), I think the popularity of groups is shrinking.
Speaking for myself: Groups are not my thing. I've been a member of over 60 groups. I even  was co-owner of HQP for a while, but I have disposed all of them. I think the aim of most groups is now: Get the most members and most photos. That no one looks at those pictures anymore (with the exception of the first few pages) is not important. Only the numbers count.

There are now more than 250,620, (Unexpected Objects In The Background), groups and it is getting very difficult to scroll through all the groups when adding a photo. I don't see why it should be so slow. Can there be a faster way such as AutoComplete so you can start typing and it gives the name straight away?
