What is the order of the photos in a group?

When I go through my holiday snaps and add some photos to a group they end up in an apparently random order.

I want to add the photos in the right order. I know I can do this if I add one photo at a time.

Does anybody know the order in which the photos end up when a batch of photos is added to a group?

This is something I asked myself quite a lot of times. The answer seems to be "by random", so now I made a test: I did upload 12 pictures that just showed the numbers 1 to 12. After adding them to several groups, to my total surprise, they were always sorted from 12 down to 1, regardless of the order I clicked them to add. But why just now, why never with other photos?

A set of photos will be added to groups in a "random" order where this "random" order is the same for each group the set is added to.

But a different set of photos will be added to groups in a different "random" order.
