Something seems to be wrong with this; I  haven't been able to save the "snap to place" selection since today, have tried on two computers and two browsers.

Is this when you are first uploading the photo, or when using the "Change Position" link under the photo, or both?

I had no problem this morning using the "Change Position" link to add a Snap-To and to change a Snap-To using IE 8.

Some places to snap are "broken" - you can get them as suggestion in snap to place box, but saving a location results in endless saving. In such a case, only workaround is to choose other place for snapping... or not to snap at all.

This happens with Chrome and Firefox, at least when trying to snap photos to places using the 'Change position' link. This happens with places that I yesterday was able to snap to.

I noticed it started doing this a little while ago. You used to be able to manually add places. I think perhaps they have removed this function and are instead forcing people to register with a mailing address or whatever to verify they physically own the place. I used to be able to add pictures to a place that I added and now it just locks up when you click the "snap to place." I think someone may have changed the setting as my earlier pictures are still there.

You can not add places in Panoramio, you only can search for them. The problem addressed in this thread is due to corrupt markers, that prevent making a snap on this marker. The main thing is then to go on, ignore the error message and when ready just go to the photo gallery where everything will be there except that one snap.

You can add places using mapmaker.google.com , if available in the country you want a "snap" or in places.google.com which is meant for businesses. It will mostly take some while before these markers "work". If there is a problem with a place you made, I suggest you ask on the site you made it as Panoramio relies on other Google services in this case.

I discovered at least one scenario where this can happen.

It works if:
I type "Soderquist" then select "Soderquist's Market, Ham Lake, MN"

It doesn't work if:
I go to another photo and paste "Soderquist's Market, Ham Lake, MN" and click Save without selecting "Soderquist's Market, Ham Lake, MN" from the dropdown.

Depending on browser, it pretends to save but does not update (IE), or waits forever (Chrome).
