Disappearing placement icons in Google Earth

2 previous photos had location icons correctly showing in Google Earth, but in a subsequent viewing the icons had disappeared. Further visits confirmed the icons were no longer there, though in 'My Photos' the position icons are still present. Is there any action I need to take to correct this, like deleting the photos and resubmitting them?

Did you read the FAQ chapter 2?

resubmitting your photos will only cause loss of popularity and thus of the place your photo has in GE. just waiting for your photo to appear on the permanent layer in GE is the best thing you can do. If the place where you took the photos is very "crowded" you might change the position slightly so the photo is not covered by an other one , higher in popularity.

On the few occasions that I changed positions after photos have been on GE for some time they didn't reappear at the new location for several months. Might be worth bearing in mind.
