This is a new API and I have not seen it before. The documentation for the data/get_photos API has disappeared. It is very strange that it just seems to have vanished without any message in the forum.
This is a bug that is also in the other API which I use.
I made the area a bit bigger and it says there are 32 photos but only returns 27.
It looks like they've recently changed the JSON results returned as well. They have not updated the documentation so that is now wrong! The forum administrators always say that it is difficult to talk to the people who work at Google and find what is going on. This is another example of that.
{{"count":32,"has_more":false,"map_location":{"lat":50.45731,"lon":2.7737317562738277,"panoramio_zoom":3},"photos":[

New values:-
map_location":{"lat":50.45731,"lon":2.7737317562738277,: centre of the zoom area
"panoramio_zoom":3}: equivalent zoom level on the map including the area given.
"height", this is not altitude but something to do with the way some photos only appear at lower heights above the Earth on Google Earth.
"place_id", the Google Places Id
"upload_date" It would be more useful if they showed that date/time that the photo was taken.
