Why is the API reporting that there are only 444 images?

Hi for a research work I used the API once a month to ask the system for the actual count of images available. I used the simple URL posted in the API description and just read the count parameter.
Since the change of the API reported in the forum I only get around 400 images worldwide which is indeed incorrect...

What is the reason for this strange behaviour? Can anybody else report on the same behaviour? And more important is there a official statement from Panoramio or Google about that?

Best wishes
Christian

It's kind of hard to help you without knowing how you are calling the API.

I use the following url to make api calls: http://www.panoramio.com/map/get_panoramas.php?order=popularity&set=public&from=0&to=20&minx=139.61&miny=35.52&maxx=139.81&maxy=35.52&size=square

This no longer returns the photos set although the photos count seems correct. Any idea if this is a recent problem?

Hello!
I have the same problem.

Url http://www.panoramio.com/map/get_panoramas.php?order=upload_date&set=full&from=0&to=11&minx=37.540534&miny=55.603530&maxx=37.540594&maxy=55.603590&size=square returns count = 35, but no photos set.

Can anybody help to solve this problem?

[Reply to Swat] There are no photos at this location, it is in the desert.

[Reply to Elico] The count has not made any sense for ages. Start from 0 and have a loop testing the has_more flag until it is false.

[Reply to Redgobo] If you want to know how many photos have been uploaded use the RSS feed and see the number of the latest photo. (The actual count is lower due to deleted photos.)
