What happens when the bug occurs? I have an English UK set up copy of windows 10 x64, with an English UK keyboard. Every time Apex Legends is started up it adds English US as the keyboard language though this is not an installed option in my Windows regional settings, this then remains selected after closing Apex legends leading to the annoyance of keys being incorrect ( " and @ for example) and though English UK can be selected again, English US is not removable it will only vanish once a system reboot fixes the issue leaving just the one keyboard language on the system again and thus no Language Bar in the taskbar.
What should be happening instead? The game should not trigger keyboard language changes at all.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Set OS to English UK and Keyboard language to English UK removing any other options. Reboot the machine to check it's all correct, the Language bar should disappear from the taskbar. Play Apex Legends, check the selected language in the Language Bar on the Taskbar, attempt to remove the unwanted new language that Apex Legends has set.
i found my problem: there is an shortcut with left shift and left alt to change the language. I use both in game for running (shift) and put the weapon away (alt) ... so yeah, no bug. I did it by myself. But its still right, that apex adds the english keyboard to the game in the first place and I cant use the ISO keyboard layout buttons in the game.
I've become aware of a worse problem from this, Left-alt + shift is the default key for changing language in windows, if you happen to use these keys to play and don't normally have a US keyboard then you're changing your keyboard language repeatedly during the game, this finally explains why some of my binds didn't always work.
When you're aware of it the fix for the change and the overlay is to disable this shortcut key in the language bar options, but you shouldn't have to do this, it's one game forcing you to change an otherwise useful windows feature because it's changing the windows keyboard layout, something I've never seen a game do before in decades of gaming.
This problem is happening because of overheating. Your processor and gpu gets heated up after 15-20 mins because it's a huge game and your machine gets to work so much so the pc needs to cool down and your windows locked by itself to recover from the over heating. the solution is repaste your processor and gpu and apply the cooling paste a bit more on the gpu and processor chip. also try to use a cooler under your laptop so it doesnt heat up that much. Your problem will be solved. Same goes for pc. Just repaste your processor. Paste is layer of cooling gel over your processor that used to lessen the heat releasing from the processor. Any kinda game if you find this kinda issue, just repaste and try to keep your pc cool. Thank me later haha just kidding happy gaming
Update: I have managed to get it so that on 1080p I have the same issue as 4k with the roster being too far into the right of the screen. An improvement but still not fixed. I believe that the tracker does not account for scaling options so like the previous person with the issue they had scaling on 300% and I have mine on 125% and it almost fits. This is annoying as people know that the recommended scaling goes up the higher your resolution. Please find a way to get the roster to work with screen ratio not windows scaling.
The problem is very strange. Yesterday I tested all possible settings, reinstalled windows, BIOS, ran everything in default settings and even so the computer gave a black screen and disabled the video card (yes, it disabled so I restarted the computer and had to enable the video card in device manager) when trying to run any 3D application (MSFS, FurMark, Hogwarts...) .
If you still have problems, I'd also suggest looking in your BIOS for any mention of an ACPI S5/S5+S6 setting and see if it's enabled. (ACPI's handling from windows and linux is different, and some of the error logs are sometimes ACPI related.)
