1. You'll be able to easily check-off purchased comics from your
Wants List. Use the new "Fast Check-in" form - and have them
added in to your collection database.
2. When adding comics (including new issues of an on-going series)
default ancillary information (notes and prices etc) will be pulled in
from some new Wants form fields. You'll need to initially enter this
optional information, but it shouldn't take very long.
Look at the Revision History (on the web site shortly) for a complete
list of the changes.
This build won't become the official release of PanelSys until any
bugs have been resolved. So, please help test the new features by
downloading the beta (when available) from the Downloads page of
www.panelsys.com. Let me know if you have any problems, questions,
suggestions etc...

Andrew
Please give it a test and let me know how you get on...

· The "Series Criteria" forms now show subscribed series in the
same order as on the Wants List.
· When you add a comic, the program will try to default as many
"Issues" form fields as possible. As you tab away from the
"Variant" field, the program will look for some default
information. It will look in your collection for another copy, in your
Wants List and finally, if "Guide Linked", in the Comic Guide.
· If you change ancillary fields for one comic, then the program will
offer to update the common fields for all other copies of the same
comic that you own.
· When cloning, the cover date can now be retrieved from the Comic
Guide.
· The Wants form now shows the Ratio/pricing structure related to
your minimum acceptable grade. The program will warn you if you then
try to change the grade to one from another pricing structure.
· The Wants Check List has minor cosmetic changes.
Please let me know if you find any bugs etc...

Andrew
This build will shortly become the next official release, as long as
there are no errors reported to me...

I just haven't had the time to test run any of the panelsys updates for a
few months, RL is a bummer sometimes. Have now managed to get myself enough
time to start cataloguing again so im interested in the newest release.
How much would the upgrade cost me to the latest version, I first registered
on 28/09/2005 ?
Cheers
David

Yes, RL is a problem - we all need to cut down on it ;-)
A v3 upgrade currently costs £11.75 (inc VAT). This 1/2 price upgrade
offer is due to close shortly (the button will be removed from the web
site) as I've been running it for 9 months now...

If you still have quite a few comics to catalogue, then it may be
useful for you to use the next official program release...
When available, start by setting up those comics in your Wants List.
PanelSys can then use the information to provide defaults for blocks of
comics (during Fast Check-in or when using the Issues form). It can
save you from a lot of typing...

Andrew
Yes I have literally thousands to catalogue, infact up around 10000 odd :)
That feature sounds so good that it will probably be worth my while starting
from scratch - I don't have a lot of series, but large amounts in those I
have.
So should I hang on to register, or register now whilst waiting for the new
release ?

David

If you order an Upgrade Licence now then you can install and start
cataloguing your comics using the current version 3 "production" build
(0304) of PanelSys straight away - if you want to. Once installed, a
version 3 Licence automatically allows you to run any future build of
PanelSys 3 that you download.
When I've released the final "Fast Check-in" build then you can simply
download it and install it over 0304. Don't worry - it will not
overwrite any data that you've entered up to that point.
I am completing the final changes and testing at the moment and hope to
officially release build 0307 within the next week...

Andrew
There's so much in it that I probably should've called it version
4!
