About the future community and site design

Hello.

My initial idea is using Joomla as base and adapt the looking and
features on it by using custom themes and modules. Because Joomla is a
powerful CMS and with a lot potential, we can design a flexible and
easy to manage site in a lot less time than making the site from
scratch. What do you all think?

About the future community, we need without any doubt people able to
translate Japanese to English and vice-versa. This community needs a
bridge between the Japanese and occidental world and it's just
possible by making an updated site translating all the information in
both languages.

So we need people that know about site design, able to translate
between both languages and graphical design. Can all members of this
group do a description of their skills?

About the domain name, what do you all think? What domain name do you
suggest for the site and and where to buy it?

What about a reliable japanese hosting company? How much it can cost?

Sadly, I have no experience with web designing, so it was difficult
following the first part of your message. However, I do have experience
translating between english and japanese, as I had the opportunity to be
an assistant of a tour guide when I went to Japan. I do have trouble
translating technical terms, though. I'll write this part in Japanese so
you can see my translation level.

残念ながら、ホームページは、作ったことがないので、メッセージの最初の部分
はよくわかりませんでした。でも、日本語から英語、もしくは、英語から日本語
の通訳は、やったことあります。この前日本に帰ったときに、アメリカ人グルー
プのガイドさんのお手伝いをさせていただきましたから。あでも、技術用語の通
訳はうまくありませんけどね。これからよろしくおねがいします。

we should definitely start by translating/finding development tutorials
in japanese to help those people who have no experience, but want to
start developing. And I agree with hnohmi-san about using the pandora jp
wiki.

Don't worry about having no experience on web design, everyone can
collabore in one way or other.

Your experience in translating between English and Japanese is a lot
appreciated, about technical terms I think a dictionary of asking
other members of the Pandora Japan Team can solve it.

I agree that translating development tutorials to Japanese is in high
priority, but we should translate and adapt a starter's guide for
Pandora users to Japanese too.

I don't know Japanese at all, I'm just trying to form a team for the
OpenPandora.jp site. Thanks a lot to hnohmi for buying the domain (did
you buy it of just a reserve?).
