Hello.

Does the OpenPandora.jp domain is already bought? I did read the
domain was reserved, but I don't know if it was already bought. If
not, how much money is needed to pay? We can pay it between all us and
ask to OpenPandora Ltd. for financing of the site costs.

Did anyone already choose some hosting provider or still not? If not,
I bought many months ago an account on a small USA hosting company
that works well and I have fast response by the owner.

I plan to use Joomla on the site, then adapt the looking in the site
in a very custom way and design everything between all people
involved. I'm open to all suggestions, so please say me your opinion
and how do you plan to create the site if you have enough skills for
it.

Regards.

Hi.

It's already bought.
I think for now, we can sight on keeping the Wiki up to date with adding
news from the chips list. We then can keep Japanese people keep updated
all the time.

Website can be next I think.
Also, I have testing purpose dedicated server and this site should not be
that huge load for this server.
For the CMS, we need to be careful. This is not only a website in Japanese,
but the base for the Japanese OpenPandora Community. This means, we
need to think of the structure of the community (how Japanese Community
works) and the relation of each modulator.

What I mean is, I think the shape of Japanese community is little a
bit different
from those by other nation's people. There are usually no leader. There will be
a site manager of course, but this does not mean there is a god leading the
project all the time. We instead expect lots of small contributions from devs.
For example, instead of one group to make a complete compatibility list or
something, we provide a space and empty list. The people in the community
or usually "Nanashi-san" (nobody) or "Toorisugari" (also means nobody just
passed by) keep the list up to date.

Therefore, I think the site never can be succeed without getting the
contribution
of those people. And 2ch.net is usually where most of those people are at.
Even I first try to search on google with the keyword + "site:2ch.net" to make
sure if there were any topic relates to the thing I am looking for.
We need to give respect to those people and have to make the site easy to
contribute by some way.

thanks.

Hello.

Joomla is a very flexible CMS, you can customize it in a extreme way.
I'm not sure if it can be enough for the japanese people, but in my
experience I think Joomla CMS is so powerful it can be used in a lot
of different environments with their own needs.

I like the wiki way of collaboring and it seems that is a very common
behaviour in japanese sites. I agree that's the way to go to any kind
of community, you just need to look the FOSS community and see what
they have done thanks to the collaboration.

I don't know Japanese, but please say me how to collabore in this
effort. What do you suggest me to do first?

About the wiki, we can talk with Chip as he's the owner and admin of
the site, I'm sending him this message so he can read it. Then a few
people that knows Japanese can become managers of the Japanese part of
the wiki. I don't need those privilieges as I have no clue of
Japanese.

As I'm going to use Joomla for a few websites I'm preparing, I might
do a test site using Joomla and see if it can be used for the future
OpenPandora.jp or not. What do you all think?

I just want a Pandora Japan community to succeed, that's the best gift
for me. I would like to see this nice machine appreciated by the
Japanese homebrew world so we can enjoy the gems from Japan and
Japanese people able enjoy the occidental ones too on a console
designed for homebrew development but also as a PDA/UMPC :)

Regards.

Hello.

I already have a Joomla testing install. I need to change the content
to Japanese and help about changing the theme. Any volunteers? I can
give users for each one.

http://www.pacgamer.com (the domain name is temporary, it will be
openpandora.jp)

It uses the default theme, it needs to be changed and customized. Any
volunteer for this task?

Regards.
